  1. It has some pretty serious flaws in its script. Some of them are due to decisions made at the outset by writers David Eggers and James Ponsoldt, while others are because the studio Europacorp intervened after production and forced reshoots and editing to take place that made the movie feel downright incomprehensible. So yes, it's not very good. Having said that, all the major performances are still solid for what they were working with. Also, Danny Elfman's score is excellent.

  4. Something to consider: When the BBC first announced the project last August, they said "Filming will take place over the winter in both Holland and the UK". With the production only starting last week, that obviously didn't happen. I don't think it's just a coincidence that this production was delayed right up until the moment Emma's international press tour came to a close.
  5. This is not confirmed yet, but multiple sources are claiming that Emma is currently shooting a BBC 1 TV drama called The Miniaturist. The production company has neither confirmed nor denied yet, but I'm 98% sure this is really happening. The show is a 3 one-hour episode miniseries, and is expected to air sometime this year.
