  1. At one point, Miles Teller and Emma Watson were linked to play the lead roles. Did you meet with them? I was looking forward to meeting Miles. Emma [Watson], I spent some days in the studio doing preparatory work on her voice. We had “City of Stars†written at that point. We decided to leave it lyrically neutral so she sang “la de da†[to the melody of “City of Starsâ€]. It was very early in the process. She came in, we had fun, and I liked her enormously. I’m sure I’ll get to work with her another time. How did her singing hold up? We would have got her there, for sure. Sh

  3. "For THR's latest intra-industry poll, the editors asked Hollywood professionals — actors, writers, directors and others — to take an online survey of their favorite fictional female characters. More than 1,800 participated — twice as many women as men — but the results proved there isn't such a great divide between the sexes after all, at least when it comes to what types of females we enjoy watching on screens. By comfortable majorities, both genders picked a certain Hogwarts know-it-all as their No. 1." http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/lists/50-best-female-characters-entertainment
  4. Vincent Peters put this one out in full resolution just a couple months ago for a book. Tried to fix it up a bit.
  5. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/01/movies/la-la-land-oscar-race.html Ms. Watson fell out first, according to three people briefed on the matter, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private negotiations. Tackling “La La Land†would have made it difficult, if not impossible, for her to take a role she had long coveted: Belle in Disney’s live-action remake of “Beauty and the Beast.†The film, commitments for which would overlap with “La La Land,†had the extra benefit of filming in Ms. Watson’s home base of London; she could remain close to her boyfriend at the time
  6. As a child, Emma Watson watched Disney’s 1991 animated classic Beauty and the Beast more times than she can recall and regarded the film’s book-obsessed heroine, Belle, as a role model. “There was something about her indignation and rebelliousness which I really loved, to be honest,†she says. “It troubles her that she doesn’t necessarily fit in, but I think she really holds close to her heart her dreams and her aspirations. She was definitely a role model.†A quarter of a century on from the original film’s release, Watson is playing Belle in Disney’s live-action remake (out
  7. I'd look out for it to premiere in front of Moana on November 23rd.
  8. Jane Galli, the makeup department head for the film, has this on her personal website. It could be a makeup test or maybe an early promo pic. Not sure.
  9. Interesting behind the scenes info from THR: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/rambling-reporter/oops-you-wouldnt-believe-a-931138
  10. Dan's voice is just perfect. It fits so well opposite Emma's.
  11. "The film will release early December 2016 (exact date tk) and will open wide." http://knopfdoubleday.com/marketing/catalogs/Fall_16/vafall2016pdf.pdf
  12. A literary agency named Janklow & Nesbit just referred to Emma as "our client" in a tweet. She isn't listed as an author on their website, so I'm not sure if this is premature or she's working on someone else's book instead.
  13. Oh, what could have been. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsNsoQV4alA
