Katharine, I keep thinking that we all sort of morphing into the same 'entity' when it comes to shipping R/E! Lino, thanks for sharing that vid. Now that I think of it, I would love for all this giggling fits to be included in the DVD extras. And I realised that we've been through 40 pages of R/E and yet we haven't had a single picspam since the new forum started! Outrageous!!! LOL So, just because... I've spoken with some friends, relatives and acquantainces while I was reading the books and asked them about when they thought R/Hr would get together, and pretty much everyone were quite convinced that it was going to happen in the very last book, regardless of when each and everyone of us wanted that to happen. However, at times I think JK Rowling struggled a bit about the precise moment R/Hr were going to finally admit their feelings for each other. Because of the nature of the storyline, everything had to be seen by Harry so readers would know R/Hr were getting together. And I think a g

LOL Lino, I think exactly like that too! As in regards to your previous post, please bear in mind that Emma is quite a touchy-feely girl and it's normal to see her being close to Dan as well. I've seen a few pics of them, but they've always given me a very strong 'brother-sister' vibe. I don't think there is any sexual tension between D/E at all. Quite the contrary, actually. When I see pics of D/E and R/E together, I notice the difference straightaway. There's just something more about Rupert and Emma.

Thanks cbmac. I do think they are secretly together now too. I was talking about the darker days before, when we remained positive in spite of the 'circumstances'. But staying up together until 5 am on BAFTAS after-party which was, at the same time, Valentine's Day??? Uhmmm... I think they totally used the event to be together on the day, without raising any suspicions.

The thing about the wonderful community that we all built here is that we've always remained positive. And by 'positive' I don't mean that we were saying 'They are together'. What I mean is that we've always believed in R/E's attraction to each other, and that all along they had feelings for one another. And we've never lost sight... in spite of Emma's boyfriend(s)! Now that the story is over, and after reading that wonderful Silver Doe chapter that will always remain my favourite, I am glad R/Hr got together at the end. After all, as JK Rowling said, Harry is the hero but Ron and Hermione get the love story. However, I have not always thought this way as I was reading the books as they came out. It was really an agonising wait for me, as I had to wait two years between books, so I could see how the development of my favourite would-be couple in the series played out. I had to wait 6 freaking years (from 2001 to 2007) to finally see them get together!

I read the first three in late 2000/ early 2001. Book 4 towards the end of 2001... And then suffered the agonizing wait for book 5, then book 6 and finally book 7. All three I read straightaway after publication, even queeing up at the bookstore to get my copy on release date.

I'm in my mid-thirties, and it's great to know that the book characters are my same age but, more importantly perhaps, that they also have young little ones to look after. Like me.
