  1. How to hit a free kick! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2cS8rGSA8c
  2. I hope so, he is our leading goalscorer now I don't know if that says more about him, or our strikers!
  3. Thanks, that's good, I am really looking forward to it now. So, we can't go wrong if we are missing our English breakfast fry ups then?
  4. Congratulations, I am sure you will do a great job!

  6. I always use booking.com, but before I book I always check out Trip Advisor, great for reviews.
  7. Thanks, you have helped, we are thinking maybe next March or April. I have looked at a few websites, some of the hotels really look amazing and good value too, as long as it has air-con, a pool and pretty close to everything we need, i'll be happy. I know that it can be pretty strict compared to how I live in the UK (couples arrested for kissing in public etc) and if I go there I want to respect the local traditions, some sites are pretty mixed about this, would I be alright walking around in shorts and t-shirt or would I need to cover up? Which may not be a bad thing as it would save on the
  8. Thanks, I think we will definitely be avoiding the summer and going sometime between October - April. I don't want the heat to put me off and anything below 35 degrees will be bearable, it's a place I definitely want to visit and some of the hotels I have looked at so far it looks very affordable too. What is the best area to stay in?
  9. New Zealand is one of the places I would most like to visit, it looks such a beautiful country.
  10. I have only just caught up with the final episode and what a brilliant end to a brilliant series, I am not going to say much about it as there are just too many spoilers for those who are yet to see it. I thought that Being Human was good before but this third series has gone beyond any expectations that I had. The BBC have already commissioned a fourth series for next year.
  11. My friend and I have been talking about maybe going on holiday to Dubai in the UAE next year. I know a few people who have been including my brother and I am yet to hear a bad word about the place. The hotels, buildings and modern architecture looks amazing. Has anyove ever been or want to go? My only concern is the heat so we really need to be careful when we go and avoid the summer months. I'm used to cool wet weather, the hottest place I have been was Valencia last year when temperatures hit the mid 30's (celcius) every day, I coped though and still had a good time.

    London

I have been to London so many times now, it's almost like a second home for me, I know my way around better than certain parts of Stoke! I don't even do the tourist things anymore, i've done quite a lot of them. Love the London Eye and would love to go on it at night, London is beautiful at night. It is very convienient as its less than two hours away on the train, arrive into Euston and I know my way around without a map, same with the tube, I even have an Oyster card. I'll be making two trips down next month, spending the weekend in Kings Cross when Stoke play Tottenham and we'll proba
  13. I like to see the sights when I am on holiday, visit museums and attractions, see new places and experience new things and different cultures, take plenty of photo's and try new food and drink, for me that is what a holiday is all about. I hate the idea of spending £100's, even £1000's just to spend two weeks lying on a beach or by a pool when there is a whole world to see. Don't get me wrong I like beaches, and when I went to Valencia last year, I spent a couple of hours on the beach (mainly in the sea) but that was plenty for me.
  14. You mean the one in Covent Garden? That's where I was thinking of staying too. You can't go wrong with Travelodge, basic but cheap. If you want to wait until about 2 months before you may drop on and get a £19 room, family rooms sleep upto 4 so that's less than £5 each.
  15. As tempting as the cookies may be , so is Stoke's chance of reaching the FA Cup Final for the first time in a near 150 year history, there is no way I am missing out. I haven't decided yet, all depends on money closer to the time, unless you can convince my boss to give me a rise
  16. Although it says Stoke-on-Trent under my name, I actually live in the small market town of Newcastle-under-Lyme just outside Stoke. These are a few pictures I took myself a while ago...
  17. And so the Mighty Potters reach the Semi Final of the FA Cup for the first time since 1972, and what a draw we have been handed with Bolton, no one can blame me of being condident of reaching the final for the first time in our history to play either Man Utd or Man City. I don't agree with the semi finals being at Wembley but I am going to make sure that I enjoy every moment, holidays and hotels have already been booked, just need the tickets now, nothing is going to keep me away. And because Man Utd and Man City will almost certainly qualify for the Champions Leaugue, if we beat Bolton we w
  18. I may have to reconsider whether I come to this or not, my team Stoke City have decided they want to be successful, which is brilliant, but very bad for my pocket!
  19. This is the one I post the most on by far, but I also visit... The Oatcake - Stoke City forum (oatcake is the local delicacy ) - I visit this the most, but never post, I get all my Stoke City news here All Angels International - A forum for the Classical girl group All Angels, it's not too active apart from when there are concerts, I actually own it... Katherine Jenkins - The official forum for the classical singer Katherine Jenkins, I post occasionally. Classical Crossover - A forum about one of my favourite genres of music, and one which is very under rated. I post occasionally
  20. It is absolutely devastating, although I had heard bits about an earthquake in Japan on the radio while I was at work yesterday, nothing could prepare me for the shocking images on the TV when I got home, I have been following the news on and off since. My thoughts are with the people of Japan right now and those who have been affected by this disaster.
  21. I thought you might be interested that he is starting this today... http://my.rednoseday.com/personalPage.aspx?registrationID=348486 I'll let you know how he gets on
  22. I also think that discipline is a problem, it's easy to blame the parents but I think they have less control than what they used to, in the 90's when I was growing up and I did something wrong I was punished for it, either by my parents or teachers, I knew what was right and wrong. These days parents have less control with teachers having virtually none because of stupid human rights laws, children are getting away with more and more. I think it's hard for a lot of young people today to realise just how much of an impact the internet has in modern day life because they have never known anyt
  23. I highly recommend it, the magazine that is, full of sci-fi and fantasy, it covers almost everything I watch and the only magazine I read cover to cover. I'm looking forward to both Thor and Captain America, it will be interesting to see the if there are any references to The Avengers like there was in Iron Man 2. There is also The Amazing Spider Man set to be released in July 2012, so perhaps wanting to avoid a superhero overload.
  24. I sometimes wonder how some drivers passed their tests, people target young drivers, and yes some of them are idiots, but for me nine times out of ten it is the older drivers who are careless, cause problems and become a danger to others. In the few near misses I have had, it's always an older driver. I don't drive a car, I ride a scooter and so I am one of the more vunerable road users, I can only hit 60mph as a top speed and even on the bit of dual carraigeway I have to use, cars are always overtaking me when they have no right to just because as I am only on a bike, there is more room aro
  25. I love Marvel, for me they always have the best heroes and I really enjoy most of the films. I can't say that I am an avid reader of comics though but thats more to do with time and money. Iron Man is the best for me, Robert Downey Jr is just brilliant. I just watched Iron Man 2 last weekend and it was awesome, along with the greatest soundtrack for a film ever! There is a big feature on Thor in this months edition of SFX magazine, he is a character I don't know much about but it looks pretty good, i'll definitely be seeing that. Can't wait for The Avengers, especially as it's going to b
