My guess is they are welcome on most weekends as if I remember correctly there are some parents in the stands at quidditch games. My guess is that we didn't hear much about them as Ron's parents cant afford the trip, Harry's parents are dead and the Dursleys would never come, and Hermione's must be too busy or perhaps maybe because they're muggles. That is a really good question though.

sorry if I'm a little late but yeah, Jo was talking about how perfect Emma and Rupert were for their roles which would make Emma feel emotional based on what we know of her personality and probably based upon what we know about Rupert's personality would make him feel shy due to such a grand compliment.
