padfoot
If you had to choose, would you rather be really comfortable, or look really great? I'm so fed up with flimsy shoes at the moment, the soles are getting thinner and thinner, and it feels like I'm wearing bare feet So, I'm on a hunt for the most comfortable shoes I can find, that look good too of course. But that's hard to come by these days, where I live anyway. Even expensive shoes don't always last. Same goes for clothes, I tend to go for fashion a bit more with clothes, but they're usually cumfy as well. I suppose it all depends on where you're going, what things you'll be doing. The Midnight Q
Two words: gel insoles. I have a pair of dress boots I've worn for almost 3 years now. The original insoles are pretty much gone so I put in some gel insoles which are reeeeally comfy. If you wear open-toed shoes then the jury's out. (From a guys pov)As far as clothes quality and cost go hand in hand. The cheaper things I buy usually fall apart faster than the more expensive things I buy. But yeah, definitely depends on where you shop. I have a few pairs of jeans that ran me $200 each but they fit very well, made very well and pretty comfortable; not to mention stylish. The pair of $30 Levi's I got was very tight and stiff and runs small (which is weird since they're 2 inches wider in waist size than the Trues I have); they were ruined after 1 wash too... Finding trousers for a tiny guy like me is really hard. Tops are a bit iffy. I can say that anything I get from Express fits very well but terrible quality. ckravitz
I wear Dr. Scholl's in my sneakers everyday, and they do wonders for my feet, legs, and back. Go to your local store and invest in a pair. It'll be worth it. For clothing. Looks come first, but comfort is the deciding factor. For example, I could love a jacket, but when I try it on it feels like I'm being pricked by a porcupine. I'm not going to subject myself to that "torture" just because it looks good on me. @Sirbenedictvs: you're 100% correct. I have a few pairs of jeans that were in the $75-$150 range and they are comfortable and fit me perfectly. While, I could get a cheap $30 pair of jeans (same size) and it'll feel like I gained 100 pounds. More money=high quality.
Arie
Gel insoles will be your best friend!! I wear them in all of my heels. Sadly, girls shoes are very different from mens. No matter how much or little you spend the bottoms suck!! lol... cute/ sturdy girls shoes just don't really exist sadly. My advice, by cheeper shoes because no matter what, you will wear them out. Might as well spend less since they will be ruined anyway. I used to spend so much money on shoes, and then they would only last me a year!!! Now, I spend a lot less. As for clothes, I am comfortable in things that most people wouldn't be lol. I don't pay attention to comfort at all really. I just go by how it looks/ how I feel in it. But, that doesn't mean it feels like I am wearing sweatpants. I guess you could say, I feel confident which can me comfortable. lol
The Midnight Q
...or in other words, you make them comfortable when you put them on.
padfoot
Ohh Dr. Scholl's sounds wonderful. Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely have a look for some but I'll most likely have to buy online, not a problem.

halleluJah
Comfort. In my experience, it's not hard to find clothes which are comfortable and look good. Comfortable and good looking shoes are however, harder to come across. Also, I rarely have clothes that fall apart unless I tear them on something by mistake. Shoes on the other hand don't seem to last as long.

I'll definitely have a look for some but I'll most likely have to buy online, not a problem. I got Dr Scholl's soles back in Nelson... you'll be able to get them in most shoes stores (maybe not Hannah's...) or the pharmacy For me comfort looks good and uncomfortable things look terrible. Period. I have ended up buying some pieces of clothing that I really loved that weren't comfortable. What happened? I've never worn them They just hang pretty in my wardrobe
flying kiwi
I like a bit of both, but also depends on what your doing as well....on a night out I might go a bit more for looks then comfort, but to be honest I'm quite good with shoes. I have wide feet so have to get the wide-feet ones, but I can pretty much wear any size heels

I have wide feet so have to get the wide-feet ones, but I can pretty much wear any size heelsIf I go out it has to be comfort or I would want to go home very soon Or rather I have to have comfortable shoes, no way I'd wear heels, maybe I could wear wedges but most of the time I use ballerinas! There's nothing better... and it goes well it everything
flying kiwi
^^I agree I love ballerina's, they're so cute. Although I have some really comfortable heels as well.
