I know she had braces, but she had them for four months.
and I was just wondering if there was any difference between them? because I honestly cant tell if it made a difference in her teeth or not.

any before and after pictures you can post to see the difference??!!!

Good question!

I think... they're a bit straighter and a few aren't so sharp/pointy.

hmm, interesting...
I think that if she had them in longer, e wouldve seen a bigger difference.

There doesn't seem to be much of a difference.

Either way, Emma has a beautiful smile. :)

I must say I wondered this in the past but there's a lot of change as I can see. They look like they have been

- Re-shaped
- Whitened
- Straightened.

Being an expert on braces myself (*cough* two years *cough) I think those four months made a huge difference. Her canines have been turned to looks less sharp (did the same to me), the teeth next to her front teeth have been pushed forward too. Emma didn't really need braces, I figure she did it based only on how it'd look. Also I bet she wears braces at night to keep them straight, because four months won't do much otherwise.

but four months isnt enough time for perfect staghit teeth.
if i got braces, i wouldnt be paying $6000 just to have them in for four months.
i know she had filming but she couldve gotten them perfect afterwards and had them back on?
i mean, her teeth are great but they couldve been perfect....

I'm sure filming probably got in the way of her keeping them on for an extended period of time.

Its possible she didn't have them at all. Her teeth aren't very different. Our teeth shift as we grow so her might have just shifted over time. I don't think she really needed braces to begin with! I love her smile!

Pretty sure she wore them :)

It was during spring/beginning of summer of 2005! Look back at the photos of her from the premiere of Wedding Crashers, she's barely smiling with her teeth but in a few photos she has her mouth slightly open and you can see her wearing them. :) With blue bands, my favorite bands color too!

^ And in the Teen Vogue issue when she was 15, there is an outtake of her smiling with her braces :)

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't see the picture you posted *facepalm*

I just don't understand why she didnt put them back on AFTER filming? or at least waited till AFTER filming to have them?
I mean, most people have braces for at least 2 years.... so i just dont understand her thought process. lol.

I don't know about Great Britain, but in Germany every teenager with teeth that aren't straight gets braces and the health insurance pays for it (well, you can say NO obviously). You keep it in until the teeth are straight and get a retainer afterwards. You only have to pay for them yourself if you are over a certain age, because the straightening is supposed to prevent damage that hasn't occured in early teenage years yet.

Three month appearently did it for Emma, because her teeth are perfectly straight. Why should she have kept them in longer than necessary? You have a retrainer for keeping them the way the braces made them move. And you don't even have to use the retainer after some time. I think I had mine for about two years and not using it anymore didn't cause my teeth to move back. Several years later wisdom teeth started to develop, which caused the teeth in my lower row to get a little closer together than they were before, but that was just bad luck (and a dentist who told me that we should wait with removing them - which opposed the oppinion of another dentist I went to later on. Grrr!) I even tried starting to use my retainer again then, but it was to late. It didn't fit anymore and putting it in became more painful every day.

I've never heard of anyone having it for just 3 months but apparently it can be enough...

... but Emma has to wear a retainer or some form of brace you can put on and remove at will, she'd be using it at night etc. Maybe not today since it was years ago she took it out but I'm pretty positive you have to wear a retainer for quite a long time. But that also depends on the person. Like I removed my braces almost 3 years ago and I still have to wear a retainer because my teeth move around otherwise.

Well whatever Emma wants she can have. She's had them braced and whitenened. Heck maybe had fillings I don't know. But, she probably just wants a healthyy smile.

sometimes the teeth dont stay inplace without having a bar behind the teeth because mine went back to there original place when i had a brace. With Emma Watson i think it has made the second tooth either side of the two front ones if anyone gets what i mean! lol straighter and more flat like the other teeth dont know what there called i should ask my mum she worked with dentists for 15 years.
its a very subtle change looks better they defently have been whitened as well though and thats whats making them look perfect.

to me Emma Watson has the best smile even before the brace
