It is kind hard seeing someone try to remake the films...

I mean, There's 7 books! it's nearly impossible...well it can happen, but it would be veryyy hard to try.

idk. the books will be a classic. no doubt about that.

but the movies...

its just a ...its jsut something that SHOULDNT be remade. you know? it's special.

If the books become a classic as i trust, a remake will be possible. I don't think it will happen for many decades to come, though...

I think it's safe to say it's popularity is secured. I'm positive it'll be remade but not for a very long time like vida said. A couple of decades at least.

I voted no, but maybe that's just wishful thinking. If there's more money to be made somewhere in the future, many years down the line, Hollywood will remake them. It also seems that when technology progresses they think they have to remake movies like this as well. They think "oh how cool would it be to redo that movie with the technology we have today. It could be so technically great." But they forget that it's the story and not the special effects that make the movie. Would Wizard of Oz be any better being remade today just because they could make a more amazing Oz or a more realistic tornado with digital effects?

Harry Potter was a perfect storm. The books were a global phenomenon. The movies were well done. The actors they picked to play the magical three were perfect - they haven't made a misstep even once. They stayed out of the tabloids for bad behavior and stayed out of rehab. The movies then became a global phenomenon. Then you had the anticipation of the next book and then the next movie coming out for several years. It just heightened the excitement of the HP craze. The series was long enough for people to grow up on it and grow up with the characters as well as the actors. The books lived up to the excitement and the movies lived up to the books for the most part and became their own entity. Bookish Hermione became a world class beauty (that was lucky for the producers) and about the most stylish thing since CoCo Chanel. Harry really wants to develop his acting chops and not just be a pretty boy. Ron may surprise us all with future roles by showing us a depth no one realized he had.

You'll never see this with Twilight. When you get down to it it's a will they or won't they love triangle about sex. It's not about the characters. You won't see this again in any series for many many decades. This kind of thing doesn't come along very often. The stars aligned, so to speak, for the Harry Potter phenomenon and the author and the crew of the movies and the young actors just became caught up in it's whirlwind. They couldn't have stopped it if they wanted to. It was bigger than all of them.

No, you won't see this again. It really was a perfect storm. They may remake the movies eventually but it won't be the same. The closest thing I can compare it to would be Gone With The Wind. And you see they haven't touched that in over 70 years and probably never will.

I I think it's inevitable they'll be remade at some stage, whether as film or TV series, but not for several years. I can't see JK or WB giving anyone the rights for another couple of decades at least. In fact, I'm not sure it'll happen in JK's lifetime. TV series possibly, but not movie remakes.

Though I voted Yes, I don't see the films being remade as much as the books being re-told on a television platform, where most of the material from the books not shown in the films can be shown through episodes for an entire season, which makes sense since each book was basically the length of a school year. Two, three, or even four chapters could make an episode, depending on the content.

That's just my opinion, though.

This is actually a great idea.

Will they be remade? Someone will probably try, because people are remaking every movie today rather than come up with their own ideas. And half the time they change the plot drastically enough in remakes that they might as well have just made it a completely different movie.

Should it be remade? No. It's an extremely big series that has seven books, and the movies series has eight films. It would either take a decade to finish them up again, or they would change actors every film as the characters age and release them faster. And they would probably just cast big names to appear in the remakes rather than create their own stars like the existing film series did.

I think people should come up with their own ideas. That's how Harry Potter was made in the first place, and who knows maybe someone can create their own next big thing.

well honestly, they are remade because the remakes are usually SINGLE films. not a series of 8

I would love to see that.

Pfft! Harry Potter was based on a book(a quite famous one actually ;) ). The filmmakers didn't have the original idea, Rowling did.(and even that some people wish to debate, I mean obviously Rowling stole the whole idea from the movie: "Troll" /ikeed/ikeed)
