Nerves don't use electricity, but sound

Recommended Posts

Well, I've been absent due to I'm kind of sick. I'm glad they allowed me to open this forum. So, I read an interesting article and I want to share it; by the way, the article is old but still.

As you know nerves transmit impulses through electricity, but this is apparently wrong; nerves transmit sound, according to a team of Danish scientists. They explain that electrical impulses must produce heat (physical laws of thermodynamics), but there's no such heat when they travel along the nerve. Therefore, in order to give a much more likely explanation Heimburg (an expert in biophysics) and Jackson (an expert in theoretical physics) theorize that nerves transmit impulses through sound propagation.

This is a very interesting article. I think it is really cool how nerves uses sound and not electricity. I think I remember way back in high school or middle school that one of my science teacher telling us that.
