Suggestions, Questions for Emma's Official site

Recommended Posts

My point was that Emma plays some part in what happens (or doesn't) on the site, as it seems.

Yes, she does.

Plz don't try to cast us (me) as ungrateful brats.

I never said You were.

My point is that it's not advantageous to advertise interaction that never happens on the site. It makes Emma looks like a tease.

If your reffering to this thread, then Emma knows nothing about it. This is me trying to be innovitive. I didn't ever say, please give me ideas and I will make them all happen. I am merely asking for suggestions so that i can put them to Emma and her team.

Therefore, my advice is to change the site's layout to a simple business card

This may happen.

I know you're the wrong recipient for this, seeing as you make money off Emma's site :P , but that's my stance.

Who says i make money?

As far as I remember there were a lot of suggestions in this thread for her page. They were all refused? I mean, let alone "Ask Emma" would be a evening-filling event...... But real answers to questions, not old quotes! And please don't say, that she is so busy. One ore two hours in six month for answering questions are possible. She could do it while travelling with Eurostar from London to Paris. Easy.

I thought so. I was referring to the 'Emma answers your questions' thing at large.

Just me making assumptions again :rolleye:

Nope, not all were refused. A lot of the ideas were very good, and taken into consideration. Some things sound perfect on paper (or on a forum in this case) but in reality just wouldn't work. Some ideas are still noted, but this whole situation may be out of all of our control now. (I can't explain that without going into confidential details).

They were NOT old quotes, I sat down with Emma myself and asked her the questions! So i guess I would know. she anwsered them and they were posted on the website.

I know the Q&A fizzled out and I apologise for that, one thing happened after another Noah, Perks Promo, Noah again - Christmas ... I'm still in hope that this can one day be ressurected. But obviously i'm not going to promise that - I would be shot dead on the spot.

On the other hand though, if you just think we are posting old quotes from the internet for the Q&A, then this whole thing is pointless. I took a lot of time collating those questions...so to say I just took the anwsers off of the internet is a bit of an insult to be honest.

yes, I'm afraid so :)

WOW... just WOW

Let me say first... I don't read Emma's twitter and I have never signed up for Twitter and don't know if you need an account to read it or not. I have also never visited Emma's Official Site. I'm a casual fan at best. Therefore, I don't know what suggestions may or may not have been made or what questions Emma may or may not have answered from people in this post.

With that said, ANYTHING she (Emma) or the management of her offical site might respond to via Jo here is a priviledge NOT a right. I think we should be grateful for someone who is willing to reach out to this community for suggestions/questions. If none of those suggestions are taken, then that is by rights.. their choice.

I think that of the many fans here who do follow Emma closely that a few could be a bit more grateful for anyone who might function in the capacity Jo does.

Please correct me, if I am wrong, but there were 7 or 8 questions, Emma answered in the beginning (on her hp and on Facebook). Then this answers stoppend and you changed to pictures of Emma with quotes from her. And, excuse me, some of this quotes I read also on the main page of Emma-Watson.net. So I am wrong, when I say, Emma answered eight questions to you, and then this stopped because of the movies?

We are talking about Emma's Q&A here, I know the random quotes on FB are old - this is not part of the Q&A.

The Q&A questions were al asked by me and anwsered by Emma.

Seriously now, are you working on a voluntary basis or smth? Or is that cunfidenshul again?

Confidential of course ;-)

Maybe it's a priviledge. But when such a priviledge is granted, it should be done in a perfect way or not at all. I can understand if Emma is too busy with movies, modelling, travelling to take care of these things, but there are high paid specialists behind the curtain. And as a movie star I would expect that my agency, manager, publicist would do his very best to get my PR-work right.

It was promised: "Emma will answer your questions" - it stopped after eight questions WITHOUT A EXPLANATION (a short message that it is over for that or that reason is politeness against her fans, not a priviledge). Then it was anounced: "Emma will ask her fans questions!" - Great idea, one question was published, then - again nothing at all. You can send Emma messages on her homepage. It is explained, that it took some days to see through the incoming mail and post the best of them (understandable) - no posting since 4th of December! No fan sent Emma Christmas- or New Year wishes? Really?

Is it really a privilegde to get fruitless promises from you favourite movie-star? I suspect that Emma is a very, very intelligent girl. Was she really under the imagination, that eight (8) questions are enough for a whole year (even if you post only one question a week you need 52!). Call me a creepy perfectionist, but this is not the way I would see my PR-work done when I would be in the position of a star like Emma.

Question for Emma: Do you work for MI6? Is that why you can't answer questions?

Well, I can answer this question, if you want: Her mother told her at the age of 12, that she should never talk about something important with strangers or fans and that she should try to talk in a way, that she get's out of a conversation always without troubles. This advice left for convo-topics only the weather, the tide of the Themse and the last song of Justin Bieber.....

Wow I finally truly understand the meaning behind the childrens classic "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie".

Jo you do wonderful work and I hope these two do not make you run off. I truly appreciate having you as part of our forum community. I can't think of any other star that allows their fans to have any say in their website.

Jon, you deserve a medal.

*sarcasm on* I hope, you will send her some flowers, Arie.... *sarcasm off*

This thread was called: "SUGGESTIONS, QUESTIONS for Emma's Official site". This is all, we did. And I am under the imagination, that Jo is able to deal with critic. Maybe she is not able to tell us all or give us all the answers we would need to undstand due to "privacy", but I thank her, that she discuss this topics with us.

I'm pretty sure I've explained every detail of very basic things such as copyright and privacy and this is still happening so... nope.

Whatever a person's reasons for thinking that they are owed more in a correspondence with a celebrity, I hope we won't turn this into something where we single out or belittle anyone for their feelings/opinions. I simply think it's important to show some gratitude for an opportunity we (as a community) have over a lot of other people who would love to have some kind of connection to a celebrity. I think it's fair to appreciate that there are different levels of "fandom" and "devotion" that someone might feel towards Emma. Keeping that in mind, as many have said, we appreciate what you do Jo. As part of that, most of us realize that not every suggestion or possibility discussed here works when there are a number of external factors, including privacy, time, co-ordination of correspondence, among other issues known and unknown. Thanks again.

Maybe in keeping with the spirit of the thread.. we can start asking questions again? Hopefully fully realizing that those questions may or may not be answered, without harbouring any ill will towards Jo, Emma, or any of the people involved with being a conduit between her and us (her fans).

Other questions for Emma:

How difficult is it to carry such a public persona, and balance your public and private life? What are some of the challenges we might not fully appreciate?

Do you have any ABSOLUTE fashion tip? Anything that you believe is a neccesity for someone to look/feel good about themself stylistically?

Moving forward in your career, do you prefer to EMBRACE the Harry Potter years, or is there some level of wanting to seperate yourself from that time? (NOT personally speaking.. but professionally speaking)

Oh.. and off topic: Thanks Arie, I appreciate your comment.

My point was entirely that it's better not to promise things that never happen. It's no slight against Emma.

But nothing WAS promised?

When did we ever say "We promise to do this this and this for the website"?

Thank you Mr Pumpkinhead, I shall add your questions to my sheet :)
