No idea where to put this but I need help.

My push bike has 6 gears the one side which changes the speed of the bike but what are the 3 on the other handle for? I've googled it but it doesn't understand what I ask for.

It'll be a combination of the 9 gears that create various resistance and speeds of the bike. It's like the rear three gears determine how much "torque" the front gears can generate. Some gear settings with those rear gears can be used for incline/declines.

The six on one side are for the rear gears, the other three are for the front ones.

The three sort of act like a low, medium and high range for the six. If you have the front one on the lowest gear it is easier to pedal, and if you have it on the highest then its harder to pedal.
