ling
Okay, so I don't usually go out of my way to buy Lancome products (I try to buy ethical products, and they have a thing for testing on animals, eep). But I really love their mascara. So I am a huge hypocrite. And I am just BEGGING for animal testing to just be outlawed so I can buy the pretty things without being guilty. Anyway, I really loved what they did with Rouge in Love because I think it revitalized the brand. Most of their products always seemed too "old" for me (compared to my favourites at Benefit, Urban Decay and Tarte), but it really brought a vibrance to the whole thing, and obviously having Emma as a spokesperson was essential to that. So, the preview of In Love came out, and I was pretty intrigued, and the line was finally released in Canada. I got: Blush in Love in Peche Joue-Joue, Baume in Love in Urban Ballet, Khol in Love in Jade Crush and Color Design Infinite Eyeshadow in Persistent Peach. So just quickly: Blush- I love this. This is my favourite product and it's exactly what I've been looking for in a blush lately. It's got a nice build to it, it's light, it seems nearly impossible to go wrong in terms of amount. Very playful and girly. Baume- Almost tied for first! Not at all sticky, great translucent pigmentation. Not THAT different from many other balms, so I'm not sure it will end up a favourite, but a good product. Khol- I wear a LOT of bright eyeliners (I love a splash of colour), and I haven't had time to see how long this lasts. It's VERY smooth, which is nice, and a colour that is a bit darker and richer than anything in my go-to brands. Eyeshadow- This one is okay. It builds up well, and is a nice colour, but I think I could find something comparable in a brand I'm more eager to support because of their ethical standpoint. Has anyone else tried any of these yet? I didn't end up trying the nail varnish because I tend to either a) have the gel polish done professionally or B ) wear a pink-tinted vitamin coat between gel polishes, so it would have been fairly useless.
