Danielle
Anyone here fans of Sigur Ros? I think that they are amazing and play some really mesmerizing music. I have been listening to them for a good few years now and would love to go and see them live. Their most popular and commercial song which most people have probably heard is Hoppipolla and it is also how I discovered them. A lot of the time I never really know how to describe their music, it is very experimental, unique and it doesn't know limitations of musical genres, they use different styles and each song is unique in it's own way from any other they have done. If you haven't heard them it is really something that you have to hear for yourself. They have also done a DVD film called Heima, and if you like them it's something that you must see. It's a stunningly beautiful film, following their return to Iceland where they played a series of free unannounced concerts in different locations, both big small, accompanied by stunning scenery of Iceland's unique landscape that captures not only the beauty of the music, but also the beauty and culture of Iceland itself - It is easy to see where their inspiration comes from. Danielle
That's beatutiful, the sort of song that you can just sit back and let the music takeover, I think that is one of the best things about Sigur Ros. From that album, I really like Ara Batur, I like how it just starts slow and builds up into this big epic tune complete with a choir and full orchestra. My personal favourite is the live version of Von from Heima, I don't know how anybody could listen to that and not be moved by it.
Antares
Oh, I thought no one knew them. In fact, I barely do. Someone posted a video of Sæglópur on Facebook and I thought that would be a great background music for a video I was making, so I went ahead and bought the mp3. And although I read up on them a bit during the process, I haven't listened to any other songs from them yet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgEGVKwURKc

I have every album and each one is unique in it's own way with one constant - it's all beautiful and compelling music.
Lindalumos
I first listened to Sigur Rós a few years ago and immediately thought they're good. Their music is so relaxing and something you listen when you're alone. They're well-known amongst people I know. Many Finnish people know them. Even my Swedish teacher, she played one of their song during our lesson and after that we studied a little bit of Icelandic Edited November 21, 2010 by Lindalumos
Antares
I found this video that combines music from Sigur Rós (Ãra Bátur) with Doctor Who: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJ3xf1QiVcM
