on the troops subject, im only reporting what BBC news have been saying, as well as The House of Commons' debates.

NATO need all the allies they can get, so they can take over the Mission Control from the US, i believe they need 28 NATO territories to back the No-Fly zone before the US hands over the control...

Come to think of it, I think the air campaign is the only thing foreign nations are willing to do. A ground intervention with foreign troops is far too risky to use. Libya is known to have chemical and biological weapons since the 80's and I'm sure Gadaffi is not afraid to use them. Britain is considering sending troops in if the air campaign is ineffective...

Exactly, that is why they need our help... but if we fight their battles and they get another dictator then they will be reliant on us to aid them. You still have to be able to co-ordinate a country, so he has to be slightly sane...

people say Gaddafi is wacko, but he has held Libya for a looooooooooooong time, so he must be sane to a certain extent...

i agree that we cant intervene too much, but the revolutionaries by themselves would never win, because they are so poorly equipped to fught Gaddafi's forces. (i dont like to call them rebels)
