  1. Err, this is a family oriented forum, but there are certain scenes from the book that are pulled straight out of a porn movie. It's not just nudity.

I frankly, first off, don't see the need to make this into a movie in the first place...it's smut...and second of all, Emma is so vanilla that I don't see her doing something like this.

But she might surprise me. Who knows? Guess just wait and see...

  2. Wow, I just saw the trailer, and that looks like a good movie.

I hope it is. It's good that she's breaking out of the children's movies, and into more adult roles. I'd hate for her to be portrayed as Hermoine forever.

I think it was after seeing Perks, that I realized there was hope for Emma after Harry Potter.

  3. Why would anyone, of any age, be obsessed with Emma's location at all times? That's borderline stalking.

I watch her interviews, see her movies, and read interviews that she does. I also consider myself a fan, but NO celebrity that I follow, do I care where they're at 24/7 or what they're doing at all times.

I know a few local celebrities personally (not going to mention names), and...they're just people. Emma is just a person. She acts in a few movies, but other than that, she's just like everyone else...and she should be treated like a human being.

    /off my soapbox

  4. Thank you, TheDude. You put into words what I was trying to say, but probably would not have said as well.

And I agree...it's a good movie, but I wouldn't let anybody under the age of, say, 15 or 16 see it, if it were my kid. I have no children, so it's moot, but it's just my opinion. Anything past that age, it's most definitely appropriate.

  5. I saw her live, and actually taped the whole concert (audio), so I have a live recording of the show. I'm a bad boy! :P

She was amazing live, and definitely blew me away! Everyone was waiting to talk to her after the show, but since A.) I'm very shy, especially around celebrities, and B.) I had absolutely nothing I could have said to her, I just left and went on home.

I have a hard time picking between her two studio albums. Some days, I like The Listening better, and some days, it's Siberia.

  6. Listen, there is nothing wrong with liking an actress who is younger than you. But the whole "finding her attractive" thing...like I said, she could potentially be your daughter.

    How is that not weird?

I am 30, and I like some of the things that my nieces and nephew are into. I think some of what Justin Bieber does is good, and I absolutely love Taylor Swift's music. But, then again, Taylor Swift is only 6 years younger than me...and I'm a young 30. Emma Watson is only 7 years younger than me.

I don't know, maybe dodgy isn't the word, but why would you spend your time on a forum dedicated to an actress, when you could be doing things that your peers are doing? I have a few friends my age who went to see Perks, and love the book, so I know it's not just me...but a 49 year old isn't the typical age group for Emma Watson.

  7. It is very appropriate for the teens as young as 13

I'm not sure, I'll have to think about it. I'd love to let her see it, but there's a lot of sex talk, plus the scenes where many of the characters are in their underwear.

If I was her parent, I'd be skeptical. I know my sister would probably let her see it, judging by some of the other movies she's let her see, but I don't want my niece to grow up too quickly.

Irregardless, it's a wonderful movie, and I'll be watching it again. The best part was that it came with an UV/iTunes code, so now I have two digital copies plus the DVD.

  8. I watched it, and loved it. :)

I may not be the target audience, but I do remember what it was like to be a teenager, and it definitely echoed a lot of what I went through. It was also very touching and moving; I can see a lot of adults being able to relate to it, as well as kids.

My 13 year old niece saw it come in the mail, and she's begging me to let her see it now. Apparently her class has been talking about the book.

It's a nice movie to see Emma in, after HP. I can't wait until The Bling Ring and Noah come out, though, and I can see her in more adult roles.

  9. No matter how anyone tries to swing this, mentally ill or not, the man was a disgusting, despicable human being. I teach third grade and to see my own students and their kindergarten buddies making gingerbread men the other day with each other made me tear up knowing those young lives in Connecticut were taken so violently while my angels were working. I have to say going back to work this week has been rather surreal and a bit nerve wrecking. We walked into our building Monday morning thinking about the school in Connecticut. We now have police stationed at our school-patroling the grounds-plain clothes.

As for gun control, our country sucks at it...I do not care if people want to own handguns that is their right to protect themselves if for that reason...but assault weapons-FREAKIN BAN THEM ALREADY-WHO the he#@ needs them!!!!! Its just so beyond despicable and horrific what happened to the kids and their teachers. All they did was get up, go to school. Those teachers were planned for the day, going over the schedule and the day. They just wanted to teach their angels.

My boss told us her uncle lives there and said the entire conmunity just is devastated and finding it very hard to move past this-how do you move past this???? :'(

By the way I teach aspergers kids-mainstreamed...they are usually very sweet and docile-have some social issues but are rather intelligent, kind, and want to be with others even though socially they are awkward-I have 4 students with aspergers...so whatever the media is saying about the autistic spectrum, please do not listen to them.

There are just so many questions.

I have nieces and nephews around that age, and it definitely made me hug them a little tighter. I simply can't understand how a monster like this can be created, but I'm sure he wasn't a monster, always.

And that's what's scary, because this could have been prevented. How, I don't really know. But someone had to have seen his downward spiral, and if they had, 20 children and 6 adults would be alive today.
