  1. Activision became greedy during the conception of Modern Warfare 3. There's been many rumors (some were true) about infighting between Activision, Infinity Ward and Treyarch. With the huge hollow success of Black Ops, Activision probably thought that selling this game sub-par with the same marketing if not over-marketing it would prove huge returns, which it did.... again like Black Ops, a hollow success.

Although nowadays people give little weight on the single-player campaigns, it's all about multiplayer now.

In either case I bought Battlefield 3 and am satisfied with it. The campaign was pretty cheesy compared to the Battlefield: Bad Company games although quite entertaining nonetheless. The multiplayer is just awesome in my opinion. The Frostbite 2 engine Dice used is excellent with the game physics; destructible cover and interactive character visuals are just great. It's pretty satisfying when a sniper and/or camper are hold up in a 2nd floor room with mines on the only staircase leading up there, and out of frustration you just shoot an RPG at the window and the wall collapses either exposing them or crushing them under the falling debris. When jumping over obstacles, the character actually vaults over it rather than teleport on top of it. Weapon physics are also impressing from sounds to the way the player operates them.

Sadly, as long as their games keep selling en masse like they are, each subsequent game they make will just be a reiteration with only a few alterations.

  2. It's basically a glorified MW2 map pack with a short campaign tacked on. With that said, it's still as fun as it ever was. I just wish I didn't have to pay 60 bucks for a reiteration of MW2.
