  1. It really does become a crap shoot. I don't know how they do it. I guess sometimes it's just luck.

I think Jimmy Johnson (the coach, not the race car driver) was one of the best talent evaluators in his early days. Everyone thought he was giving away the farm when he traded Herschel Walker. But look at the team he built with that trade. The Cowboys won three Superbowls with those guys.

I really do wonder where some of these guys come from. Look at Tom Brady. He was a 6th round pick, 199th overall. But now he's a superstar that seemingly came out of nowhere. Then look at the top QB pick of that draft -- Chad Pennington a round one pick 18th overall. He is now best described as a journeyman QB. It really is a crap shoot.

I believe the reason that Bradford will be a keeper though is that it goes beyond his raw talent, which he has plenty, it's his smarts and his humble, team first attitude and his work ethic. Not to mention his competitiveness. Looking at him coming out of high school he wasn't on anyone's radar but became a Heisman winner. They guy's a natural athlete in many sports.

  2. Apply because of the school, not because of who's in it.

Read what was said above. If you get into Brown and never meet Emma, what's the worst that could happen? You get a great education.

  3. Nothing like those pictured above, but I ride a 2008 Aprillia Sportcity 125 scooter.

It gets me to work and back.

I guess it's like the saying goes "It doesn't matter what you ride as long as you ride."

There's nothing like hearing the loud roar of the pipes and feeling the rumble of the engines while on a lonely highway out in the middle of absolutely nowhere and you can see so far you can see the horizon touch the sky and you're not detached from the scene in your metal cage but you're a part of it on your bike. Freedom.

  4. Yeah I played sandlot football growing up too. At least the guys we faced on the sandlot weren't anywhere near as massive, strong or quick as these guys - playing in the NFL without padding would be a sure death sentence.

I agree, I think Peyton is an extremely smart QB. I think Sam Bradford is going to be the next Peyton Manning. The guy has learned the game so quickly and makes good reads and better decisions. The Rams have already won four games this season with him at QB. That's more than they won in the past three season combined.

  5. College ball? This is the place to talk about it.

Are the Ducks for real? Does TCU deserve to be in the BCS talk? What about the potato aggies? How 'bout Auburn - what if Cam Newton is ruled ineligible?

Your thoughts. Your discussions. Better yet, your arguments.

  6. A few of my faves:

Tom Sawyer - I feel like I could've been Tom. Would've loved to have lived back then running bare foot in the summer (not to say I didn't anyway. I even had my own Becky Thatcher growing up.

Of Mice and Men - So desolate, so lonely, so sad.

And I know that I'm gonna totally lose my man card on this one as these are chick books but I like the Anne of Green Gables series. Shoot me.

  7. I don't think so. If Emma hangs out with another celebrity it's because she enjoys their company not because they're a celebrity and she's like "oh let's hang out and be famous together." I don't see Emma as that type. I think Emma just enjoys being Emma and she's stated numerous times that she just wants to be normal.

  8. American football. Stay up late Saturday nights watching late games on the left coast and then Sportscenter and College Football Final. Then spend Sunday watching games as well and then watch weekend wrap up shows on the news and the coache's show.

  9. How sad. Would have been a lot better if you looked this way than anything like what you previously posted...

But I had a strange deja-vu about this one.

Anyway, is there a chance we will see the real Dude?

Maybe at some point, but not right now. If it happens at all, it will be in the future, down the line sometime.
