  1. Laura, thank you so much for your message. :3m_sie: I received it, but real life is taking up so much time, I hardly find time to go online at the moment. We're very busy at work. I hope things will go back to normal soon and I'll be able to come here more often.

JON!!!! Your post was so beautiful and so true. I agree with everything you said. :yesyes:

I have a little stupid question: Does anybody know why in the movie the kiss shows Ron on the left side and Hermione on the right side.. and here I see pics of Ron standing on the right side where he is much more.. going at it

I think it's just another camera angle. As far as I know, they shot the kiss from all angles.
  2. Oh, wow. that is a really great vid there, Luciana. Thanks for providing the link. If you see all these wonderful R/Hr moments compiled you just have to fall in love with them all over again. Really, it might not be this huge, epic, classical love story, just a sub-plot, but still so powerful and heart-warming and TRUE. i think it's one of the big love stories in literature and on film.

  3. Thanks, Laura. I don't have much time at the moment anyway and in four weeks time registration is open for everyone anyway, so .... LOL

As long as I don't end up in Slytherin, I think I'll be fine. I can imagine I'll be put in Ravenclaw. What do you have to do to be sorted? Is it completely random or do you have to answer questions or do a test, i.e. wrestling a Troll ;)

I found a bigger version of THE PIC!!!

    http://rupelover.tum...ost/10200173372

They are the best couple ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is that .... is that a real pic or is it a damn well done manip??? :lostit::drool:

  4. Guys, As i was re-reading PS book for the nth time last day, i just found something startling which i think was an indirect heavy clue dropped by JKR in the first book itself. In the book after the boys save Hermione from the troll JKR has penned :

""But from that moment on, Hermione Granger became their friend. There are some things you can't share without ending up liking each other, and knocking out a twelve-foot mountain troll is one of them." --pg 179 (American Edn Last line in the chapter Halloween"

Now i might sound stupid but just look at it in this way. It was Ron who actually knocked the troll down(he did remember what Hermione had taught him :))

Harry stuck his wand into its nose.

So does it mean an indirect statement that Ron and Hermione would end up liking each other??

What do you think guys.. For me it's a clear clue dropped by Rowling in the first book itself...

You are not stupid at all, rhrshipper. Many things are open to interpretation. I personally don't think this sentence specifically was meant as a direct clue to R/Hr. The whole troll incident always was meant for the trio to become friends. Knocking out the troll was a collaborative effort, even if it was Ron who did the actual knocking out.

The fact that he chose that exact spell to do so and that only hours before Hermione had "taught" him how to use it properly certainly was a hint. Ron - despite his teasing and eye-rolling - was always more prone to listening to Hermione's advice than Harry, who had a knack for doing the exact opposite.

Kristen, there is actually a gif from that scene somewhere.

    I FOUND IT!!

ETA: Am I the only one who still finds it incredibly pathetic that WB hasn't managed to give us a R/Hr photoshoot for the last movie? I mean, honestly. Ron and Hermione are THE HP romance. They win out in polls against Edward/Bella. They win out in polls. The R/Hr kiss is high up on lists of not only best HP moments but also famous movie kisses of all times and so on. And the WB didn't use that for promotion? *shakes head*

  5. Well, Harry always had a quite unfortunate timing when it came to interrupting R/Hr alone-time. ts, ts, ts.

I love that Weasley family pic. What I don't understand why there never was a Ron/Hermione photoshoot. Or pics showing the Potter/Weasley family and the Granger/Weasley family. And a poster showing the whole Weasley clan (as of year 7) including Charlie. I am sure I read somewhrere that Charlie had been cast. I think you see a glimpse of him at Bill and Fleur's wedding.

Laura, have you forgotten about me? ;)

  6. where in the US are you living? atm, its gonna go up between 4.30 and 8pm uk time, you have a chance! :)

I live in Germany. When I checked this morning before I went to work, it said that day 4 registration is closed. Now I'm back home and just checked again and it says already day 5 registration is closed? :(

  7. Wow, Kristen, you sure you've watched DH2 only once? :D You have definitely captured each and every great R/Hr moment. And the movie was full of them. And it was true what Rupert said in an interview before the movie was released. R/Hr are really veeeeerrry couply. Even before they kissed, they were a couple. No doubt about it.

About Pottermore: You can't register right now. You can submit your email address so you get notified when general registration is open. However, there is the Magical Quill Challenge going on right now to win the chance to gain early access to the page (officially Pottermore will go online for everyone in October). That means, each day from July 31st to August 6th a new challenge is posted. It's a question about each of the seven HP books. The answer has to be added to the Pottermore URL and then you enter a site in which you can register. That still doesn't mean you'll gain addtional access. I think there is a limited number of people from those who have participated in the Magical Quill Challenge who will win early access. Problem is: the challenge each day is only open for a couple of hours. 4 days have passed already and I haven't been able to participate. I just can't stay up all night and I am at work at day. So not much chance for me. :(

  8. Well, there weren't R/Hr moments unfortunately, but the moments that I liked the most were the fight between Ron and Harry in DH part 1 (the comments were amazing!) and the chess scene in SS (it was the first time that Ron took the initiative).

The first place was for the first time we see Hogwarts in SS, when they arrive in the boats. A beautiful scene! :)

I saw the list on Leaky. I was glad the Harry/Ron fight was on there. And the chess match, which was mainly a Ron moment. Not to mention the destruction of the locket. Of course that had the evil FakeHHR kiss, but was mainly a Ron moment too. And all of these ahead of the bloody dance, which was at #46. Too bad there was no R/Hr moment. I'm sure had the list included DH2, THE KISS would have been on there. Maybe next year they will have a new lis. There were some really good moments on there, others were a bit lame, IMO. So, at least one R/Hr moment would have fit on the list.

  9. Yeah I saw it yesterday. Well, unfortunately, the H/Hr dance was there  , but all the moments were good. They must do another list with the last film included!!! I mean, the R/Hr kiss should be there!!!!

Arrrghhh. I just hope the stupid dance wasn't too high up. David Yates really grated on my nerves with his gushing about that scene. He even repeated all of that during DH2 promotion. You'd think he would be all over THE KISS, but no! And I always thought he was a huge supporter of R/Hr. I still adore his line about Ron and Hermione are "delightful, funny, tender and true". And he did up Ron a bit. But his infatuation with the dance I can't understand.

Where there any R/Hr moments or Ron moments in there too, Luciana? (I don't ask for Hermione moments because I'm sure she got many).

  10. Okay folks, since I am not in the U.K., I have no chance of catching this show. ITV will have a show with the 50 Greatest Harry Potter moments, as Leaky reports. Hope some of you can catch this. Unfortunately, it's only the first seven movies, so THE KISS can't be there (The Harry/Herminoe dance better not be on that list  )

Still there are certainly many memorable moments. It's on tonight 8 p.m. GMT. Which basically means, in twenty minutes. :o

  11. Great review, Jon. I really agree with every point you made. I too have my minor gripes about the movie, and I could blow them up into big proportions, but seeing as the movie overall was so well done, the right mix of action, emotion, drama and humor, a really very very worthy, exceptionally well done finale for the movie series.

Oh, WOW!! That is a fantastic pic. R/Hr FOREVER!!!!

  12. We will keep it burning, Kristen. :D

And you're right. I don't understand and never will why the WB were so STUPID not to milk Ron and Hermione for promotion. All over the years, or at least after it was clear they would be a couple. Which was basically, after HBP (the book) was released. They could have "exploited" them for the "sex sells" angle. But they were so busy trying to push a relationship that was never gonna end in a romantic one *coughHHRcough* they overlooked the obvious. I don't like Twilight at all, and it's in no way comparable to HP anyqay, since it's a romance novel, and HP isn't. But they surely knew how to market their "hot stuff".

  13. I think they might release one. But as of now, not everyone has seen the movie. I think it's not even officially released in all countries.

Whoever hasn't seen it yet and doesn't want to be spoilt, should avoid the internet at all means, though. LOL

  14. galadriel I came here expecting to see THE KISS ;)

You were a day early. :D I wasn't on yesterday, but here it is THE KISS SIGGY. It isn't exactly the shot I wanted to have, but I just couldn't find that. Yet. I also didn't want a gif, because they ususally don't show the whole kiss and they often show it in slow-mo. Which is okay, but not what I imagined for my first post-HP siggy. It's my first signature since joining this forum too. A worthy wait, don't you think? ;)

The kiss was a 12/10 if yas ask me ;) The PASSION, THE FIRE, EVERYTHING went into that kiss-I mean people were shouting finally, cheering, giggling w. excitement, wooing, it was AWESOME people's reactions ;)
Agree. I'm happy you love THE KISS as much as I do. Some of our lovely R/Hr friends seem to be a bit disappointed and I'm so sorry they are. :(

THE KISS didn't get any applause or cheering in my theater, but a huge AWWWWWWW and some "finally"s :D

  15. What? Only number 10?? I have to check the list for who's infront of them to see if #10 is high enough. ;)

I still have not found a proper good pic of THE KISS. Not a gif, a pic. Can someone help me out? And do you think it's okay for me to use it as a siggy now?

  16. I didn't think they looked happy at all on the bridge. Just my impression of course. I think they looked thoughtful, emotional, a bit sentimental, but also relieved that everything is over. I loved this final shot. It was the moment I almost lost it, but then the screen went black and it read "19 years later" It was when a couple of people in the theater, including my bff sitting next to me, groaned "oh not that" My friend isn't a big fan of the book epilogue, so there wasn't much chance of her liking it in the movie anyway. And she didn't.

I am a fan of the book epilogue but think the movie had better ended with the scene on the bridge. JMO.

  17. Those questions can be ansewered easily and was well explained above. Exsept that Snapes patronus changed the night Lily died for the reason stated above. He loved her. I can't quiet remember what it was before though.

I didn't remember that Snape's patronus changes the night of Lily's death. It's some time I've read DH. But that fact hasn't been explained in the movie anyway. Snape uses the doe patronus to make clear to Dumbledore why he saved Harry's life all these years. Not because he cares about Harry, only because of Lily. When Dumbledore sees the doe patronus, he knows why.

  18. Why Severus and Lilly's patronus are the same? Yes. Because he loved Lily, Snape had the same patronus as her. A doe.

Why the Sword of Gryffindor disappear in Gringots? Because it was Godric Griffindor's and belonged to Hogwarts to help those who ask for help. As Dumbledore explained in CoS and again in the King's Cross section, Help will come to those at Hogwarts who need it /are worthy. In the Chamber in the second movie, the sword presented itself to Harry to fight the Basilisk. In DH2 it presents itself to Neville to help kill Nagini.

Why Harry wasn't dead? Maybe because he is the Master of Death? That indeed hasn't been explained properly. In the movie, Dumbledore tells Harry that Voldemort merely killed the piece of his own soul that resided in Harry. That, plus the Elder Wand wouldn't turn against its true master, which was Harry. In the book it is indeed this reason, and that Harry is the Master of Death.

I hope I could help you and didn't make matters worse with my explanation. LOL

  19. Another question. The scene in Kristen's signature, Ron holding Hermione, was that in the movie? I mean the scene was in. It was when Ron and Hermione were attacked by Nagini and then Neville kills Nagini. But that excat shot of the two of them holding each other couldn't be seen in the movie, right?
