  1. I watched the trailer today and I cannot wait to watch the whole movie. Not just because of Emma, but I am very interested to see Michelle Williams as Marilyn! Hope Emma´s part will give her the opportunity to show her acting skills :)

Same here! I've always liked Michelle Williams, she always makes interesting and challenging career choices. And the rest of the cast seems amazing as well. It does look like Emma will have a tiny part though...

  2. I loved it. I love everything with Emma in it! It seemed to be though as they were advertising Emma more rather than the actual product :P

Can't watch it because I'm at work, but I think what you pointed out is basically the problem with advertising a perfume. Potential consumers only get to see the pictures or watch the video from the campaign, not necessarily to smell the fragrance, so to get them to go to their local Sephora and give it a try, you need to have a pretty face, preferably a household name (Nicole Kidman or Keira Knightley for instance... and now Emma) that people (in this case, girls/women) look up to and wouldn't mind looking like a little bit.

There was an interesting article in the FT the other day, about celebrities turning their lifestyles into brands (such as Gwyneth Paltrow with her blog GOOP) and people being enthusiastic about it, because they feel that, by buying certain products that are being used or recommended by a celebrity they like, somehow they can partially attain the lifestyle of such celebrity, or feel a part of it.

How many of us will go and smell "Trésor Midnight Rose" just because Emma is advocating it? I know I will. I may even buy the perfume, who knows? And if I do, it's scary to think that Emma will probably have been 50% of the incentive! As consumers, we can be fairly predictable and influencable...

I don't know if I make sense, but my point was: they have to advertise Emma more than the perfume in order to sell the perfume! If it wasn't the case, any model off the catwalk would do.

    Sorry for the rant.

  3. ^^iv had influence since it was released..but i still havent read it :rolleye0012:

but iv looked through at the pictures, and i love it!

You should definitely read it, it's very well-done and inspirational :)

I was reading Ashley's interview of photographer Peter Lindbergh, who (among others) did the photoshoot for her first solo cover of Harper's Bazaar and I got interested in his work... So I googled and youtubed him, and here's what I found: some beautiful black and white footage of the girls that he directed. I've never seen this short video on any website but I think any fan would enjoy watching it... Link:

  4. My copy of "Influence" arrived yesterday - such a great coffee table book! The visuals are absolutely stunning and the content is so interesting, you keep wanting to read more and more. Also, you get a nice insight into the girls' personal collections and photographs.

  5. Well, personally, I'm not a big fan of the dress, or the makeup. However, Emma is entitled to what she wants to wear and nobody should criticize her for that. Sometimes, people just need to keep their opinions to theirself.

Yeah, exactly. Even if you don't like the dress, why would you publicly diss it? If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything. That's rather basic.

  6. Agreed!!! It was complete garbage! but with guillermo del toro it's bound to be amazing!!!!!

True. And Emma has said that she'd like to work with some of the Mexican directors that are part of this upcoming amazingly talented generation (Cuaron, Inarritu, Del Toro...). I'm crossing my fingers it's gonna happen!

Amen! OK, well I didn't see "Beastly" but Vanessa is a terrible actress...

She is, isn't she? To be fair, the rest of the cast wasn't good either. The guy playing Kyle made me cringe. Neil Patrick Harris was amusing, nothing more. And Mary-Kate Olsen had a few good moments. But that's pretty much it.

    *Apologies for drifting off-topic*

    That's really great news!

So, so far we have these movies to look forward to:

    1. My Week With Marilyn

    2. The Perks Of Being A Wallflower

    3. Beauty And The Beast

She hasn't really broken out of the teenage/kid movies yet, but hopefully she'll take on more adult roles soon!

Well, I guess she should enjoy this genre while she can, you can only play a teen for so many years :P She has all of her life ahead to play more mature roles and I'm sure she'll manage to do everything she feels like during her career.
