  1. the problem with ur spoiler is that, Stephen Moyer has signed on for 3 more seasons like Anna and Alex as lead characters. which means Bill might continue being in her life, which is jsut stupid. as we know with the books he dimishes.

UGH?!! That sort of sucks, sure Bill is a really nice character but Sookie needs to move on in the series as well! Sigh.

Could someone refresh my memory, when does the next season start? June, July? I really miss it, they take FOREVER between seasons!!!!

They take one year between each season :sweatdrop: Which is scandalous, especially since it's only 12 episodes per season. It starts at Sunday the 26th of June

  2. Has anyone else seen 'Black Cauldron'' its an old one, but completely slipped my radar. It's very good. My boyfriends brother works at the Disney store and went overboard with the buy one get one free's and his discount so he bought my little boy it randomly, along with up.

I know the movie but I haven't seen it... Have considered watching but never gotten around to it.

Tangled is really underrated. It really deserved more press than it got. Really good movie.

    AGREED!

I've not seen tangled yet, I want to though... Sucks with Mack not being old enough to take to the cinema yet.

Get it ASAP, and it's so worth getting on DVD, you won't regret it :)

  3. This is a really interesting point, and the debate is definitely strong over Catholicism moving towards the 21st century. Personally, I feel this is something that people either love or hate about Catholicism, and most religions for that matter - they either like the antiquity of it, or feel that the religion should move towards modern times. It is true that a lot of people listen to the religious leaders in terms of contraception and so I believe that religious leaders can use this to their advantage and help influence people about AIDS and the importance of using protection. Unfortunately, I DOUBT this will ever happen just because the whole point of religion is to preserve "morals".

The thing that frustrates me the most is that many people know that AIDS, STD'S etc, exist, but they choose to believe that they can't get it or wont and they might have a sad realization or wake up call someday. This is why sex-education starting from a young age is sooooo sosososo important!!

I keep hoping they'll change, they are bound to sooner or later.

I think it would be interesting to hear what kind of sex education people have received since we come from so many countries (and beliefs). (:

I'm sure things have changed and developed since I was at school (I'm 23 now) but I'll tell what was going on then. We (I'm from Finland) learned about conception in second grade (when we were 8 years old). Then about puberty in fourth and fifth grades (10 & 11 years old). In secondary school / junior high we continued learning about puberty. Then we were also educated about different STDs and contraceptions. Themes were also discussed at meetings with the school nurse. In upper secondary school / high school there was some sex ed and each student were given a condom.

Generally I'm happy about the sex ed we were given at school. Maybe in high school there could've been a bit more of it.

Interesting topic nonetheless. I would also like to hear from those who don't think it's appropriate for schools to give sex education. There are so many opinions and views! Religion being only one of them.

At the age of 8? Wow that's so young. In Swedish school (or where I was at) we started talking about puberty in 5th grade (age 11), and then it's tradition (all over the country) to educate the 8th graders (14 year olds) about sex, everyone has a few lessons about sex and the body in Biology. However I did not attend these lessons so I'm not sure what exactly was talked about but I believe it's about contraception, sex and sexual orientations, how the body works around sex and how babies are made. Which is all very interesting but far from enough. But I think the main issue is to spread knowledge about STD's in areas where there is no information in the media about it, like in huge parts of Africa.

  4. Well I'm not a religious person so I agree with contraception. I know some religions are against it because it is written in the bible that God wants us to reproduce. I think this statement is taken a little too literary. I mean that when the bible was written life was much more difficult and death rate was much higher, like if a couple had 7 children, 4 of them would die before the age on 10 so it made sense at the time that you should have many children. I know birth control pills didn't exist at the time (even tho they still had ways of keeping unwanted pregnancies from happening)but this is a different world

Anyway religion has always been a powerful thing and it has always been used as a mean of defining communities and imposing rules, but the world has changed so I think that the human interpretation on religion and it's rules should change as well. Just think about it, we are already having problems with planet overpopulation and social problems with teenagers spinning out of control. I know most religions don't agree with sex before marriage as well, and I get why, but it has become a common thing and it's good that at least some people use methods of contraception.

I seriously hope I haven't offended anyone with what I have written here and if I have, I apologize, it wasn't intentionally :)

Well said! In total agreement with you. :) I think it's a shame Catholicism hasn't evolved with time and is still unable to see the need for contraception and sexual education for everyone. Unfortunately a lot of people listen to the Pope and other big leaders within Catholicism and as long as they are against contraception things will be difficult to change. Of course not everything is to blame on Catholicism, don't get me wrong! But I believe they need to change in order to try and evoke focus on the need to educate people about sex and contraception.

The most important part in all this is educating about STD's, at least AIDS which is obviously the biggest problem since people DIE from it. It's a shame so many people have to die/catch HIV virus/develop aids just because some old men refuse to change their opinion. Sigh.

  5. I've seen Tangled three times now, thanks to working at a theatre :)

Awesome film, the best thing to come out of Disney in a long time, IMO, with its mixture of fairytale story and modern animation. Beautiful score too.

I watched The Princess and the Frog recently as well, but I can't say I was impressed. The animation was fine, and the story was ok but I was a little disappointed with the music. Does anyone know if Alan Menken was involved or not? There just seemed to be a lack of memorable songs.

I've seen it three times too and it's now that I realize exactly how much I love this movie. :) It's so ridiculously good and perfect in every way. I can't find a flaw! I just keep counting up all the reasons this is one of the best movies ever and definitely in top 5 movies by Disney.

:ohyeah: Tarzan is so amazing and the music is to die for. Probably the Disney soundtrack I've most listened to...

I didn't get Wall-E anyway. WTH was up with that disturbing movie? It wasn't even 'cute.' :rolleye0012:

Oh baby I'm gonna pretend I didn't read that :sob: Wall-E is like the most adorable movie ever! It's genius and brilliant in every possible way.

  6. i made some Jensen Ackles stuff :) more later maybe!! :)

OMG OMG OMG :excited: SO GOOD! This new coloring you got going is awesome and this stuff... Thanks for making my morning!!

  7. Hehe strange habits are cute people ^_^

    - I smell EVERYTHING (animals are a favorite)

    - I don't bite my cuticles, I "pull" of pieces of skin :rolleye0012:

    - I daydream a lot in different places, including when I drive...

    - I have to eat honey at least once a day or I go mad (have done since I was 2)

    - I don't talk to myself a lot, but I definitely have a two different voices talking to me up there

  8. Ashley: You're so gorgeous! Nice to see you happy!

Joe: I was like 'where's the hair?' at first then I realised you said it's old. You look better with the cool hair. xD

I look a mess in both, I'm having lazy days. I dyed my hair black today to. (:

    Yesterday:

    Today:

Oohhh the hair looks great :) And you don't look a mess at all, as pretty as always :yesyes:

  9. i'd do bungy jumping, skydiving, and everything as long as it doesnt involve sharks bwahahahaha

Yeah sharks are unnecessary :) But I'd count shark diving as an extreme activity...

As for bungee jumping and sky diving, I'd wait another 15-20 years before I try a stunt like that. Honestly, yesterday was enough for me to get my rush  .

As for canyoning, I am sort of really afraid of heights. Like, really really afraid. However, I did read an article the other day about a series of footpaths that connect through national parks in Europe called the "GR Footpaths". There is a footpath called the "GR20" which runs North to South (or vice versa) through Corsica. It's 180 kilometres (or 110 miles) and the North side involves a lot of scrambling and steep hills and sharp turns on cliffs and stuff.

It'd be a dream of mine to get a group of people and do the GR 20. I understand it's dangerous, but there is nothing like using your human energy to travel places and see the world on foot. There is nothing like it, and you don't get the well-feeling like that in a car or airplane (although you would obviously need to take one to get to another country  ) while staring out the window.

It's why I do road cycling. I was an avid trail rider and mountain biker (though I never travelled far with my old, clunky mountain bike). I swtiched to road cycling two years ago when I bought my cross-trainer hybrid road bike, which can maneuver trails and roads. I love it, and as you said earlier extreme activities like that do give you a high.

Despite being grounded and off my bicycle for the next (-crosses fingers-) 4+ weeks, I don't think I can ever truly stay off of it for long. I hope this is the case. :yesyes:

Wait to do it? :) If opportunity to do it pops up I recommend you go for it!

That hike sounds awesome, I'd love to go hiking and camping with my friends too, it's just it'd probably cost a lot, and neither of us can read a map haha

Definitely base jumping and sky diving would be on my bucket list. Ahh nothing better than jumping out of a perfectly good airplane :D

I used to mountain bike and still do at times but just XC trails. I did downhill a couple times but only when I had my friend's DH bike that could actually survive the trip. I'd love to do some MTB-ing in the canyons of Arizona and New Mexico and maybe up in the Rockies.

Does paintball count? I used to do that and airsoft which we call mil-sim here since we are more into the combat simulation.

Hmm an extreme activity? Freakin' break the holy grail of speed, 200mph in a production car.

Base jumping seems awesome! :D But the thought of doing it on your own... *shiver* Really cool tho

  10. WHY HAVEN'T I SEEN THIS TOPIC BEFORE? :excited: Friggin awesome hearing all your voices people! Actually cooler than seeing pictures. :)

    Mine

    *Runs away forever*

Btw I don't have a lisp :P It sounds like it!

Hehehehe okay I just listened to what i sound like - and I have to say I don't usually sound as childish as what I sound like on the recording :P It really is so weird listening to your own voice!

Fingers crossed this works :PAlex's voice

You guys made me all emotional :sob: Can't hear Kiwi accent without growing a hole in my stomach. I used to have a kiwi accent myself but I pick up accents from others so since I have a canadian in my corridor I lean towards north american accent now... *sigh* With Swedish in it of course haha.
