  1. Daniel Radcliffe is in Munich, Germany right now to do promotion for the Woman In Black! Found some new videos, but I'm not sure you will be able to watch them outside of Germany. The ZDF-one probably not.

  2. Hi! Welcome to the forums.

The link above doesn't work. I know it's a pain to have lots of handwritten question forms because it's much more work in evaluation, but maybe you should go for it and put the questions here. I guess the partitipation would be much higher.

  3. All 7 books in German and English

    Book 1 in Italian

Quidditch Through the Ages in German and English

Fantastic Beasts and where to find them in German and English

    Tales of Beedle the Bard

DVDs (2-disk edition) of films 1-6

    BluRay of film 7.1

BluRay Ultimate Editions of films 1-6

    The soundtracks of films 1-4

DVDs I burned myself after recording several specials that were on German TV

One documentary that was being sold on DVD, which wasn't really good - got it as a present and it's one of those they cheeply produce and sell via Amazon

    HP Film Wizardry

    HP Page to Screen

Several books about HP that were released sometime in the beginning of the phenomenon, don't ask me about the titles, they are at my parents house

The HP edition of the UNO card game

A large folder of newspaper clippings I collected between 1999 and about 2004

Some posters that were in magazines

A poster from the third film

A cup I got when I saw the first film during release week, the cinema sold CocaCola-products in it (it's a reusable plastic cup, collecting used papercups would be quite gross :))

The tickets from all the cinema visits I've been to

Several copies of the ONE-magazine, they had editions out covering HP only

    A calendar

    A diary

Don't know if this counts: DVDs of all the other films the members of the trio were in. Though I remember Rupert being in a film called "Thunderpants" - don't have that, it wasn't released in Germany, and frankly it didn't catch my interest so I didn't try to get it as an import.

I think that's it, but I can't be sure. I became a fan in the '90s, that's a lot of time to collect and forget :).

  4. On which days did you guys get the quill challenge? I got it on the second day and still no email :sob:

I did the challange on day 1, my email arrived Thursday a week ago. I heard the day you finished the challange doesn't influence the order in which you will get in. I checked forums and twitter like a madwoman before my email arrived, and people who did the challange on day 6 got in before me if they told the truth. I'm feeling very sorry for anyone who is feeling the bad effects of this. Maybe they did it because of all the complaints from the USA, who were agiated when the first challenges opened add odd times in their time zone?

One fact might cheer you up a little bit: Even when you are in, you won't have "full" access to all the material. Right now only background information for the first book is up, and most of it has been reposted on SnitchSeeker (with permission from the makers of Pottermore if they are right about it).

  5. I love how Emma has her own style :) She looks adorable!! Plus getting ready for school soon I guess yes? Wow yall start late in Europe!!! We have been back since last week! Most colleges in the US have started about 2 weeks ago even!

I think it's quite early - in Germany we don't start until mid/late October.

I'd really prefer the system of the USA, because you will be done with your exams before christmas. We have them (plus deadlines for papers) in February, which makes us use christmas break for cramming.

    Getting off topic here...

  6. 'Harry Potter' star Daniel Radcliffe is reportedly planning to tie the knot with his girlfriend Rossane Coker.

The 22-year-old actor has been dating Coker, who was the assistant producer on three 'Potter' films, for a year now.

Coker's father Malcolm has given his approval and a friend of Radcliffe said that he is considering marriage, reported Sun online. "They're crazy about each other. Dan wants to marry her," said a friend.

Coker, 22, met Radcliffe while working as a production "runner" on 'Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part One'.

Film chiefs worried about the schoolboy wizard's image ordered the affair to be kept under wraps until the last Potter film. But the actor recently let it slip when he said, "I'm very much in love."

Du you guys think this is true?

    About Dan gettig married soon?

Well, good for him. And if so: My best regards !

Well, this story originates from the Sun, and the "source" is a friend.

I VERY much doubt it is true. Honestly, if you were going to propose, who would you talk to about it before doing so? Maybe your parents and one or two of your closest friends?

I doubt Daniel would promote this among many people, and I also doubt his best friends would call the Sun about it right away.

Conclusion: Huge "DOUBT" stamp all over it  .

  7. Everybody: chill!

Try not to work yourself up, because everything will work out for you in the end.

Trust me, I consider myself a professional at this, because I've been through this twice. I got my bachelor at one university and am now enrolled at another university to work on my master.

There will be quite a lot of chaos during the first days, but that's what university is like. I've been there for four years, and I still get confused with how things work at times. The bright side is: nobody cares, because they all face the same problems. And this includes staff members and professors, if my impression is correct. Don't feel stupid just because you ended up in the wrong room for a class, it has happened to everybody at some point.

Just go with it and you will be fine. Participate in as many activities during orientation week as you possibly can, so you get to know people, the campus and you new hometown.

It also helps to use social networks wisely. Try to find a group for your university and your field of study and contact people who seem to be new there as well. You might be able to meet over a cup of coffee (or your preferred drink) the week before it officially starts, so you have someone to rely on when you have trouble finding that place where you can get those plastic cards you need to make a copy in the library and so on.

In case of emergency (aka panic attack): Breath, get out of there and remember that you are not alone. People around you might be able to keep up that straight face (just like you), but they probably have the same emotions. Just have your mobile phone nearby and call home!

    :3m_sie:

  8. Haha, I just got my welcome mail! It said: :ohyeah:

You have been selected for early entry into Pottermore!

We’re really excited to confirm that you are one of the lucky people selected for early entry into Pottermore, ahead of when it is open-to-all in October, to help us add finishing touches!

We will activate your account between mid-August and the end of September, so keep checking your inbox for our Welcome email. When this arrives you will be able to enter Pottermore. In the meantime, you can check the Pottermore Insider for all the latest news, updates and announcements.

We look forward to welcoming you to Pottermore.

Sadly this doesn't give me any access right now, but it's a start. I think it might also mean not everybody who registered will get early access. Why would they send out these mails otherwise?

The confirmation mail said they would only give early access to a selected number of people, so I should answer quickly. I did within the first 12 hours after the first clue was up. This is just some information so we can work out the rules together.

I wish you good luck with your selections! :yesyes:

  9. The German school system is facing several reforms right now, so I'm not sure if my information are totally correct, but I will try.

We don't learn a foreign language until entering secondary school (which is on from the 5th grade at the age of about 10). Most schools start with English.

At the beginning of 7th grade we get to learn another language. French is the most common, and if you are enrolled in a grammar school, you usually have a choice between French and Latin. If your school is close to the border to another country, that language is often offered as well (e.g. if you live in the very north, you might be able to choose Danish).

When entering college grade (which is simply a part of grammar school here) you have the option to pick up ANOTHER language. The kind of it usually depends on what teachers at the school have to offer, so it variates widely. Since almost every school has a teacher for French, you often have the option of going for that if you didn't before. Other popular options are Spanish, Italian and Russian (the last one especially in the federal states that used to be part of the German Democratic Republic of course).

During the past years it became more common to teach young children a foreign language while they are still in kindergarten or elementary school, but I don't think this takes place everywhere. If they do, this language is English.

Phew - my school system is difficult to explain! :D

  10. He didn't die basically for the fact that Voldemort only killed the part of his soul that was inside him. In reality he did die for a little while. But then he had the chance to go back or move on to the afterlife and he took that chance to go back. The reason he had the choice to return was because it weren't Harry he killed. The little Voldemort they seen under the bench was the part of Voldemorts soul that was inside him.

I guess you need to read the books to understand because they've missed so much out of the movies I can tell why you're confused.

EDIT: ^No it wasn't because of the stone.

That's right. Voldemort basically killed part of his own soul when hurling the spell at Harry. I think part of the reason why Harry didn't die might be that the elderwand didn't work perfectly for Voldemort and because it was bound to Harry (Draco Malfoy got the power over it from Dumbledore when using Expelliarmus, and Harry disarmed Draco later on in Malfoy Manor, even if he didn't carry the wand then). Maybe they had to physically destroy the locket etc. because they were mere objects, while Harry is a human with not only Voldemorts, but also his own soul inside of him?

To be honest, I don't think it is that logical to work that way, but it's J.K. Rowling's world :).

  11. ^ They are :(

One that has already shut down is Emma Empire. It started as a German Emma-fansite around 2002 and was the first one I visited (I was far from being good at reading English back then). I remember it being a very small, but dedicated site with a gallery that only covered the very first premieres and grew to be a site in two languages (German and English) with the largest gallery around the web. It's quality declined a lot over the past few years, but it being completely gone is kinda sad.

Another one is Harry Potter Trio. Never my first place to visit, but one that was quite popular a while back I think.

  12. The series of new interviews with the cast popping up is coming to an end now with the promotion being over. I sit there and go "oh well, about a year from now there will be new ... DARN!".

The mood in comment rooms has turned quite nostalgic as well.

And finally, I visited two HP-fansites last week that had "we're closing down" written on the front page. I guess the fact that this was the final film wasn't the main reason for it, but the owners probably thought this would be the right time.

  13. I did notice it, but I guess that it is part of Daniel Radcliffe's acting. People with low self esteem or in depression tend to have this posture, so it totally fits Harry's personality.

It's also not Daniel's natural posture, in interviews etc. he doesn't slouch.

    I like it  .

  14. The clue is there. I solved it, got access, registered and then got the note that I would have to respose to an email of confirmation. I checked my mail but it's not there :(.

    Anybody else having this experience?

  15. @ Kenne:

Are you sure you picked the right forum?

Sure, Emma was "at the right place at the right time" when she got the part, and the fame that opened doors for her just came with it. But if she hadn't worked hard she would never have kept any of it up. Had she been lazy, she would have been replaced by the producers and directors of the series in the blink of an eye.

She also managed to finish school with great marks, something many people fail in WITHOUT having to work in something resembling a fulltime-job from the age of 10.

This is someone speaking who likes Brit's music and respects her work, by the way.

  16. Out of things to take away, I spend money on things I can't get at home, which is the local food mostly.

The Netherlands have the most amazing sweets by the way :P .

Otherwise I visit museums and other places like that, and obviously I have to pay for that as well.

I'm not really a fan of souveniers. If I do buy something to remind me of the trip, it will be something like a piece of jewelerry, just stuff I can have with me.

  17. No. She avoids the sun at all costs all year round, which includes her staying in a very dark box during the summer months.

Of course she does tan in the summer, humans tend to do that (some more, some less). It can't be avoided (sunscreen actually helps to build a natural barrier agains the harmful rays, so you tan faster).
