  1. sounds pretty meh/ half-assed though. Exclusive places? Who wants to live in a ghetto (call it a golden cage, doesn't change anything). Completely relatable that she (and her friends, who have only a fraction of her popularity) want to simply go out like everyone else does. Stop going to nightclubs? Best advice ever, except not. Buying privacy? In what universe? You can relegate yourself to the life of an alien, maybe. Trying to live a normal life while being famous inevitably leads to intrusion of your privacy.
  2. Again, I posted this before but here goes: what's BETTER for Emma and what is NOT depends mostly on her own preferences. Does Emma want/ rely on pap shots of her to keep her in the news/ employed? If so, she should strike a pose and flash a little skin whenever there's a camera pointed in her general direction. If she wants to minimize her exposal in the tabloids, it might be better to pull a frown and walk briskly by. Now, in Emma's own words, she has enough money to "never have to work again". She's obviously not in dire need of employment/ exposal. Right now she's caught up in a luck
  3. The reason is kinda there in the premise: that means everything and nothing, thank you very much
  4. All this discussion misses a crucial point though. What's the "right" way to deal with paps, and what's the "right"/ desired result? Emma mostly wants to be left alone by paps, so what steps should she take to achieve that? Will they disappear if she poses for photos? Obviously not. It's not like they just want one nice shot and then they'll leave.
  5. Those are some sharp knees in that picture Luckily they're not Emma's. That would result in a dozen anorexia threads
  6. It was in the news everywhere FFS That one took 5 seconds to find on Google. Like I implied in my post, it was certainly partly just rhetoric. Doesn't make it less offensive though, rite? I think we can safely assume that expansionism won't stop or be limited to empty spaces forever. His statements, again, could just be a tad populistic. My question was actually serious, if such sabre-rattling and finger pointing is necessary for Israeli politicians.
  7. Pardon? http://www.vancouversun.com/news/Barbara+Yaffe+Israel+settlement+construction+security+issue/7661793/story.html (very first news post I found) Well, you're wrong. Meeting with Merkel, Netanyahu said he was disappointed at our abstention and made a very thinly veiled reference to our historical guilt.
  8. I wasn't talking about rockets though. I was talking about the proclamation (= threat) of building further settlements. I'm German. We as human beings should find it extremely offensive that Israel simply expects Germans to sanctify their expansionist ambitions that will only lead to more suffering and killing of a minority in their country, then alluding to the very same thing that happened in Germany as if we were then obliged to show complicity. What's going on right now can only be called Israel trolling the world. And yes, we mad.
  9. noone's questioning the quality of her upbringing. But the reality is, neither she nor her parents like the side effects of fame much. Did they talk about it, maybe. Maybe not. Either way, I don't think they're naive or dense because of it. I would totally understand it if they tried to block out the whole celebrity thing and tried to establish more normalcy for Emma in her private life.
  10. just remember one thing, 'my parents never told me that I'm beautiful'. And you think they discussed pap shots of her pubic region in detail?
  11. I think it's very possible she had no idea what she had signed up for as far as paps go. She's said that her parents aren't interested in the movie industry. I don't think they necessarily talked about things like 'remember to always wear underwear'. She'd never done raunchy photos before, she was playing a prim and proper schoolgirl. Nothing indicated that paps would be trying to get under her skirt as soon as she turns legal.
  12. The idea of a 'crotch of public interest' is a bit disturbing, indeed.
  13. In keeping with your analogy, it's more like saying "there are thugs out there who might jump you no matter where you go. So you can either go unarmed and hope for the best, or take martial arts lessons and carry a gun on you at all times." So far, Emma has gone with the more reasonable (relatable, natural) option I'd say.
  14. Being a white hetero male I could take offense to that, but since the world is my oyster your spite doesn't hurt me in the slightest. Now watch me slowly spinning this globe while cackling sinisterly
  15. She'd never say 'please no pictures', no. In fact, she has participated gladly in quite many photoshoots, all of which kept her in magazines without paps. It's not like she didn't know how to play the media game IMO. About the paps leaving her alone, well there are limits to everything I'd say. You can take pictures a distance away from someone quietly, or you can shove your camera in their face, shout at them, or rummage through their trash/ stand on their lawn. It's all a matter of courtesy, and British paps seem like a really intrusive and often obnoxious bunch. I don't think that i.e. in
  16. I think there are two kinds of celebrities, those that need publicity in itself because they have nothing else going for them, and people who became famous for their work. Emma obviously is in the latter group. I personally doubt that pap shots and intrusion of her privacy will result in her getting more/ better jobs. Like 'zomg, look at this picture of her getting out of the car! You can see her snatch! We need this girl!'
  17. The latest Israeli bombing of the peace process is p. hilarious. Are Israeli politicians really that obliged to cater to the masses to stay in office? Our own appeasement government decided to play Switzerland, which was almost an act of rebellion but provoked Netanyahu to reminisce about that special bond between our countries. Because the Holocaust places a moral responsibility on us to tolerate the killing of Palestinian children.
  18. I think you're uncomfortably much on the paps' side. The Diana example has a point, and that's not if her driver was drunk. In a high speed chase through a tunnel it doesn't take alcohol to cause a lethal crash. I think Emma's support of the Leveson inquiry on Twitter may imply that she indeed feels her privacy/ comfort zone is violated by the press at times. That would be very sad and isn't justifiable by saying she makes the wrong use of her PR.

  20. didn't occur to me before but with her slim physique and small stature she's a perfect fit for an Asian audience
  21. someone tell me you've also put a Christmas carol. What an embarassment in her eyes
  22. I assumed them to be the same for this question. Seems I have to partake in everything that has 'Emma' on it
