The Dude
Does anyone "get" this movie?
Emmas Friend
I've seen it twice now, why ? I don't know !, I found it disturbing the first time I think its supposed to be set in the future, although everything in the film seems dated. That constant noise in the background just seems to grind you down.
Luciana
It's Rupert Grint's favourite film, but I never saw it.
ckravitz
I never saw it, but this may shed some light: its budget was $10,000, and is considered a "surrealist film"
The Dude
I've seen it a couple of times - that's about all I could stand. It's been a while since I last saw it. Weird. I've read some analysis of it but still am fuzzy on some things. What, if anything, is Lynch trying to say? What's it about? I'm not completely sure that the symbolism from these analysis is correct. Emmas Friend
From what I have read on the internet, David Lynch has never explained what the movie is about. He said he wants the viewer to interpret it as they see it. The movie was filmed over a four year period, roughly costing $20,000.
