It's kinda of a good thing/bad thing for you; yes you have to come in earlier or cancel plans if you accept, but it guarantees extra hours for you (possibly overtime) I used to call off work back then because I money wasn't a big concern for me; I was living with my folks, wasn't paying rent, and they still gave me an allowance for doing chores. Still irresponsible from my part, but I don't really mind. Least I didn't put work over school. But with this very tough economy I wouldn't dream of calling in sick; crazy as it sounds I dread even losing 2 hours out of my paycheck.

I've never faked being sick to get out of school (believe it or not), but I have faked it to get off work.

Philadelphia news claims Irene was one of the top 5 worst storms its ever had. The city is still covered in water, but not as much as the past few days. And we just got our power back last night, though I heard a few cities/counties got their power before yesterday. There's still a few hundred homes (besides Philly) who are still without power and PECO claims they're working on it before the weekend, but otherwise most of Pennsylvania is doing all right. That's pretty cool, though 3-4 hours is quite too long. Heh. Ended up dying my hair a more natural, warm color. It's actually a light brown/dirty blonde, but because my camera phone sucks it shows a much darker tone. Meh. :]

^ I'm probably one of the few that is tired of that song. It's incredibly overplayed. I like her song Someone Like You (partly because I can relate to the song), but I'm currently hooked on Set Fire To The Rain. She has such a soulful voice and you can really feel the emotion in her songs.

May I hire you? As for me, I'm a secretary/administrative assistant at a car dealership and a law office. I like them both for different reasons: the car dealership is a super lenient atmosphere I can even work on my homework and as for the law office even though I'm always swamped with work it's interesting to learn about the law and I am minoring in political science so the experience helps a lot. I also go to school, though most of my classes are in the evening.

Does anyone else here work? If so, what is your position? Do you like it? If you don't, is it because you're not legal yet to work? Or is it because you're keeping yourself busy at school/college? Other reasons? If you want to ensure your privacy, please don't state the name of the company you work for. Just position and/or duties. :]
