So, the game that broke a billion dollars in five days....
What do you lot think? I played it and in all honesty thought it was as dull as a dead parrot.
I thought it was pretty stupid, every mission you either fall unrealistic heights or have some form of explosive go off right beside you, causing you to loose consciousness, only to regain it shortly after and continue as nothing just happened.

I know that I'm going to get some serious hate from Jade but I'm sorry, it just didn't do anything for me.......

Thoughts?

IMHO, another marketing thingy just to harvest MORE money.

Graphics? Not many changes since COD4 (COD MW).
Campaign? Another scripted linear story. Could've made a DLC, would've cost less for players.
Multiplayer? Same gameplay with minor innovation.
Personal conclusion: make a DLC, not another game.

Little evolution for enormous amount of money and worldwide buzz.

It's basically a glorified MW2 map pack with a short campaign tacked on. With that said, it's still as fun as it ever was. I just wish I didn't have to pay 60 bucks for a reiteration of MW2.

Activision became greedy during the conception of Modern Warfare 3. There's been many rumors (some were true) about infighting between Activision, Infinity Ward and Treyarch. With the huge hollow success of Black Ops, Activision probably thought that selling this game sub-par with the same marketing if not over-marketing it would prove huge returns, which it did.... again like Black Ops, a hollow success.

Although nowadays people give little weight on the single-player campaigns, it's all about multiplayer now.

In either case I bought Battlefield 3 and am satisfied with it. The campaign was pretty cheesy compared to the Battlefield: Bad Company games although quite entertaining nonetheless. The multiplayer is just awesome in my opinion. The Frostbite 2 engine Dice used is excellent with the game physics; destructible cover and interactive character visuals are just great. It's pretty satisfying when a sniper and/or camper are hold up in a 2nd floor room with mines on the only staircase leading up there, and out of frustration you just shoot an RPG at the window and the wall collapses either exposing them or crushing them under the falling debris. When jumping over obstacles, the character actually vaults over it rather than teleport on top of it. Weapon physics are also impressing from sounds to the way the player operates them.

Sadly, as long as their games keep selling en masse like they are, each subsequent game they make will just be a reiteration with only a few alterations.

To sum up how we've ended up with such drizzle covered ice cream.

Call of Duty 1 turns up, creating clans and matches and tournaments

United Offensive arrives: it builds upon the CoD1 gameplay, with vehicles, maps and MP modes.

CoD2 arrives; It takes everything CoD1+UO had, makes it better, improves graphics, and makes everyone happy.

CoD3 arrives; Is over-looked

CoD4 arrives: Everyone proclaims it as amazing, and many good reviews are made, and much death and destruction online occurs.

Modern Warfare 2: CoD4 with nice shiny things but not much else

Modern Warfare 3: Fewer Shiny things attached to CoD4...dullness ensues.

Was talking to my classmate about MW3 about it's revenue for Activision. Apparently the game made I think $1,000,000,000 ... yes billion dollars within the first 2 days of its release which is a record (correct me if I'm wrong). And he said and I quote "...that's pretty impressive for a map pack..."

I thought the game was okay. Spec Ops was better than Campaign. I don't like the campaign on this one at all. It was way to short and not challanging. I haven't played online though. I hate online on games. I only ever verse my boyfriend. >.<
