  1. I don't see this post anywhere on her twitter. The last post I see is a retweet of a Malala about HeforShe???
  2. Next up, Postmillennialism! When talking about the end times, it is so hard to keep all of the different views straight. This next post is going to talk about a Christian view of the endtimes called Postmillennialism…but before we get there…as a way of review, in my last post on this topic, I mentioned a view of the end times called Amillennialism. In Amillennialism, the prefix “a†means not…so not a literal 1,000 year millennium. I talked about different scriptures where the term 1,000 is used figuratively…such as the LORD owning the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10).
  3. Again, I don't know if anyone has posted this anywhere before, but evidently there are some organizations that have organized quidditch games (for muggles). Here's a link to one article, http://richmondmagazine.com/life-style/leisure/quidditch-regional-championships/ In real life, they are played with a soccer or volleyball...and the bludgers are actually dodgeballs...and the snitch is someone running around with a yellow ribbon that the chasers try and catch. Catching the snitch is only worth 30 points, though...but it does end the game. I guess there are quite a number of people tha
  4. Dumbledore...I really think he would have seen his sister. I agree that Snape would have seen Lily. ALWAYS!! The question is, who/what would Hermonie have seen?
  5. I don't know if you guys have all seen this before...but this group of people did a spoof on Harry Potter. It's kind of corny with time turner thing...but the animation and voices are pretty good. I think it's funny. I apologize if this has already been posted somewhere. Here is the link, http://youtu.be/YsYWT5Q_R_w
  6. I finally had some time to get around to this…To be honest I do not spend a lot of time studying end times stuff. I'm no expert at all...I'm just trying to present a fair picture of four different ways to look at the book of Revelation. This first post will deal specifically with a view of the end times known as Amillennialism. (Three more posts will follow later as I have time.) “A†means “Not†The millennium means 1,000 years… So “Not a thousand yearsâ€. Amillennialists do not believe in a literal, thousand year reign of Christ on Earth. Let’s begin by looking at som
  7. Salmon, peas, & mac & cheese. What I ate tonight sounds like a poem.
  8. Here is a picture of my old car that I had painted with white rustoleum and I used to decorate it for different church events. It actually looked pretty good...I would just use sharpie markers to draw on it, then when the event was over, I'd sand it off and put on some more rustoleum.
  9. I'm just going to keep on posting on old threads!! This seemed like it was a good discussion people were having back in the day! I agree that far too many Christians get wrapped up in their view of the end times. Any time there's a disaster or something happens - they say, "It's a sign of the end times". Even for Christians...as you look at the book of Revelation, there have been AT LEAST four ways of interpreting it. All of these methods have their own pros & cons. I wish that pastors would use more words like, "I feel this view is correct", or "Personally, I think this shoul
  10. "I Love Emma" - Isn't breaking out of the cycle of life and death more of Hinduism? I understand that Buddhism kind of came out of Hinduism, but I thought it was Hinduism that had the goal of breaking out of the cycle of reincarnation and becoming one with Brahman. I know that there are different branches of Buddhism, but I thought the main goal of Buddhism was to reach nirvanna, which would be defined as eliminating ALL desires or cravings. Anyway, as a Christian, I can see how some desires, which I believe come from our sinful nature, are bad, and eliminating these would be a good thing
  11. Oops. Sorry for repeating myself. I was posting from my tablet and somehow messed up.
  12. If you go to winnscreek.org you can hear my voice if you listen to one of the church services. I don't like my voice. It is somewhat nasal...on bad days I sound like Kermit the Frog. 13. I want to get my wife's car repainted. I got a quote of $411 from Maaco. I've heard good and bad things. But I don't really have a budget for much more. I used to have an old Neon that I painted white with rustoleum. It was cool because for different events at the church I would take the church projector, put images on it and trace them with colored sharpie markers. When the event was over, I'd just sand it off and start over. It was cool. Really cool seeing band members take pictures of themselves next to my car because I had drawn their pictures on it. But Julie won't let me pa

    I Love

I love the smell when you open a new can of tennis balls.
  15. “The Fault in Our Stars†Well here’s my attempt at a Christmas devotion from “The Fault in Our Starsâ€. This is a GREAT book/movie Emma once mentioned on her Twitter. I think the author, Joe Green, was from Pittsburgh, where Perks was filmed. According to Wikipedia he also volunteered as a chaplain at a children’s hospital, which makes it easy to understand how he could come up with such a heart-wrenching book. Putting everything else aside, what can we learn from this story of two lovers with terminal illnesses? First, when watching this movie, I have to admit that when I saw

    I Hate

I hate the cough I've had for the last 3 weeks!
  17. 43. I think. At least according to my profile.
  18. I do think this looks bad for Emma...but I don't think that she intentionally did anything wrong. From this article, http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/11/03/theres-a-really-embarrassing-allegation-about-these-popular-feminist-t-shirts/ It seems that people were told that the shirts were going to be made in the UK, but then the shirts ended up being made in Mauritius. So I don't think that Emma or her PR team could have possibly known. However, I think politics can sometimes go bad. Often people start with the right motive...and somewhere along the line it becomes corrupted. In t
  19. I traded in my car for another used car. Exciting & scary at the same time!!
