  1. Emma is a very beautiful name. I love it and would definitely consider it. And you are right, cbmac, Rachel totally took it. Poor Monica! But, as she said, she loved Rachel more than the name so everything was cool.
  2. Oh, gotta love this thread... and its people! No matter how long we've known each other, our conversation always flows so naturally. And we always take time to chat about THE COUPLE of all couples in the HP books: Ron and Hermione. I truly never considered Lavender nor Viktor as potential partners for Ron or Hermione. As Jon said, there was something in the way JK Rowling wrote R/L relationship that made you feel straightaway that Ron wasn't in the least interested in her and just snogged Lavender out of revenge, and to annoy Hermione. But I also agree with Sabine as I never thought
  3. Hopefully Rupert doesn't get a cold (or cold feet? ) at the last minute! I really wanna see R/E both attending!!!
  4. Katharine, just read your fanfic and posted a comment! It's so well written! Loved every second of it and hope you post more soon! Just to get back on something we discussed briefly in the other canon couple's thread. I'd like to know how everyone here feels about Harry and Ginny's relationship portrayal in the movies. While he's had some faults in the past, I think Dan does an outstanding job as Harry. He got really big shoes to fill when he accepted such role and I believe he's always raised up to the challenge. But I still have a problem with Bonnie's characterisation of Ginny. Maybe
  5. WOW!!! Katharine, I just read it! It's FANTASTIC!!! I loved every second of it, and I'm not one to read many fanfics. Perfect characterisations on your part. I feel like this could have very much been part of the books. Please post more when you can! PS. Is it OK for me to think there is something implicit with Ron's 'discarded clothes'?
  6. *runs off to write them!* Despite the fact that they are magicians, they fight and evil force, and encounter magical creatures frequently, the characters themselves are very relatable. Especially the scenes where they show vulnerability. Those are extremely well-written.
  7. A few of my favourites, all from the books 'If you want to know what a man's like, take a look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals'. (Sirius Black) 'To the well organised mind, death is nothing but the next great adventure'. (A. Dumbledore) 'It's our choices, Harry, that show us who we truly are far more than our abilities'. (A. Dumbledore) 'Wit beyond measure is a man's greatest pleasure'. (R. Ravenclaw) Thanks to Jon who kindly reminded me to post them!
  8. The characters feel very real, I agree. But I also love the books because they are filled with so many wonderful quotes... 'If you want to know what a man's like, take a look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals'. (R. Ravenclaw) And I could go on forever... (please excuse me if I paraphrased some because I don't have the bo
  9. The BAFTAs are on February 13th. If Emma can make it to the awards, I think should probably stay an extra day to enjoy Valentine's day!
  10. This one reminded me of JK Rowling's quote itself 'Let my girls be Hermiones, rather than Pansy Parkinsons. Let them never be Stupid Girls.'
  11. Rupert, on the BAFTAs award they'll be receiving, "Thank you so much BAFTA for this amazing award. We have spent half our lives making these films and are so proud of the pleasure they have given the fans and the contribution they have made to British cinema." And I think he should be proud indeed. He has every reason to feel that way!
  12. Daniel Radcliffe on the BAFTAs award they'll be receiving, “I am thrilled that the Harry Potter film series is being honoured with this award. I have loved every minute of making these films and to me the real heroes are the crew ". Such a team player...
  13. So Emma is still in England? Did she ever make it to the US in the first place or is still trying to get there?
  14. Give me the Ron/Hermione dance instead! Oh wait... they didn't film it?!
  15. Beautifully said. Wholeheartedly agree.
  16. Great topic! I'm a big fan of HP quotes and I'm a regular visitor at the 'Quotes' section on Mugglenet.
  17. Luciana, the image you posted was taken down... AGAIN! And I can't see it in my PM either! I'd hate to think that it's being censored or something... Or is it possible that the author herself doesn't want it to be posted here? I'd like to hear your thoughts. Otherwise a chat with the mods might be due. I would have LOVED for R/Hr to have a discussion about what happened MM and the post-locket reactions in the book too. I like to think that it happened but, as JK Rowling decided to tell the story from Harry's POV, I think she was limited to write about R/Hr's more intimate moments
  18. Such wonderful news, Luciana! Thanks for posting! I agree. I wished they would have kept Harry, Dudley and Aunt Petunia's parts in the movie. It's such a wonderful moment in the book. Harry is finally accepted as family!
  19. What happened with that wonderful image you posted, Luciana? I can't see it anymore... Such a shame! I loved it! Can you please PM it to me?
  20. 10.Rupert Grint and Emma Watson in the "Harry Potter" series – In the beginning, their relationship consisted of Watson's "Hermione" barely tolerating the Grint's "Ron" character. But through their adventures together with Harry, we've see it blossom into young love, with each of them coming to admire the other's courage and loyalty. Awww! This is lovely! I'm glad they are getting the recognition they deserve. They have such an AMAZING chemistry! By the way, the author call him THE Grint.
  21. no, I haven't. Shipping wars are not my thing. Obviously.

I agree. Besides, he shouts to his mum quite often, and that only makes him look quite childish. He needs to start behaving in a more professional way. He's got the potential, but unfortunately his negativity is pulling him down.
  23. Of course it wouldn't. It's just an Octopus... but it worked for the Germans. Until the unbeatable Spaniards cooked a Paella with it (but the Octopus also predicted that! ) I'm glad about the Dutch team went into the final. I was rooting for them and was glad that, for once, the best two most deserving teams made it. That doesn't happen very often...
  24. This is simply BRILLIANT! This has to be my favourite caption from now on! Congrats to its creator, this is SPOT ON!!!
  25. cbmac, you made me laugh! I didn't know so many remakes were available! Well, maybe just Starsky and Hutch (here's a BIG fan of Ben Stiller) Well, if a remake is made at some point, I'd like R/Hr to be physically a bit more canon to the books. I love R/E so please don't take offense. Rupert and Emma deliver their lines as I'd just expect them to do it. That's out of the question because their performances are UNREAL. However, physically-wise they are a bit different from the books. For instance, Hermione's hair has been getting blonder and straighter with every movie, which is not ri
