Opinions? :o

I saw this two days ago, thought it was really good. A very inspirational movie.

Also, Clemence Poesy (Fluer Delacour) was stunning in it (as usual), she deserves a mention :D

Yes its an amazing movie. Gave me chills in some parts.... just to think its based on a true story!

James Franco was very good in the film. The scenes where he passes time by talking into the camera... you actually feel for him. And I loved how his premonitions came true in the end. Very inspirational. :)

I didn't really care about Clemence's character though. I mean, her role could be done by any actress. But yes, she looked stunning.

I saw this movie a few weeks ago. I actually had no idea what it was about (unbelievable I know) so it came as such a chock when 17 min in he was stuck under that rock. James Franco's performance was brilliant, he truly did an amazing job with this awful true story.

However I had a hard time liking the movie, I was so disturbed by... everything... I couldn't watch the end. Literally had to close my eyes.

I haven't seen this one (yet!). Would really like to though, I've heard it's amazing. Some say it's a bit clicheish(?) at some parts? But I have great expectations for it. Even the trailer gives me chills.

I didn't know that Clémence Poésy was in it! So cool, I really like her.

How was the music by A.R. Rahman (eg. Slumdog Millionaire)? My friend says it has some really cool parts.

Same here.

I must say, the bit with the arm... was horrid.

He had no choice.

Umm.... I wasn't being rude. I should've put a smiley after my sentence. :) Its difficult to trace emotions through text. You could've asked me before judging.

Even after I said this if you feel I was being rude, thats not my problem.

Didn't need to judge. And you're being rude again. I'm just going to stay away from this topic. :/

^ Thats a very good idea. And why would I be rude? For you not liking that scene? LOL...I just stated he had no choice. Girl, you got issues. :/

If anything, I'm just kinda annoyed that we went off-topic.

This is kinda embarrising but i passed out when he was cutting his arm off. It was weird though because I've seen much more greusome things. I think it was because it looked so real and you can actually see him cutting certain parts of his arm like his nerve and stuff...

He had no choice.

Naaaahh... I've debated this with everyone I know, I've come to the conclusion that I would probably have killed myself :P Surviving but having to cut of the arm with the blunt knife or just dying... I'll go with dying. Just cut of an artery or something and bleed to death. Yeah think I prefer that ^_^ I mean technically you are already dead as soon as you are stuck. On the other hand I would have brought a phone, and told people where I went.

Aaron Ralston impresses me. His strength of will in the face of a hopeless situation is worthy of respect. This movie didn't really tell it that way. <_<

I found this movie to be a cheap rip off of Aaron's story. He is depicted as a shallow, brainless rock fairy on the lookout to show the girls what a great canyoneer he is. As he chimneys along with the young tourists, in a slot high above the canyon floor, he boldy displays his self assurance and sexy, desert savvy.

If anyone has read his book you'll notice film lost huge parts of the real story. Aron was an highly experienced outdoorsman with medical experience and his decision to amputate his arm came gradually. The helicopter just appearing at the end was disconcerting as we had no idea how they found him, but in the book we see that his family and friends organized the major effort to find him through tracking his emails and local law enforcement.

The importance of the real story lay in personal strength, determination and the selfless caring for those who would mourn his death.

Finally, the obvious product placement commercials really killed this story. The slot canyons of the Colorado Plateau are a place for those seeking adventure, excitement and a peaceful wilderness experience far removed from the noise of our daily lives in civilization: A radical departure from the crass commercialism, noisy, synthetic soundtrack and chaotic teenage self aggrandizement seen here.

See the movie, drink Gatorade, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Perrier, use your Capitol One credit card to buy a Sony camera and all kinds of other crap they want you to buy in this infomercial...or save your money and read Aaron's book instead.
