  1. I don't think any movie is a must see before you die in the literal sense. But with the fun and the spirit of this thread... I have many but will start off with Shawkank Redemption. This is a film that will touch your soul. Some movies have happy endings but this one has an uplifting ending. After seeing the end of this movie you feel like life is worth living. It shows the importance of one true, good friend. You've heard the cliche about something being about life, love... Well this movie truly is. This movie has several great lines but two that really express the heart of the mo
  2. This is one of the more beautiful songs I've heard in a very long time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-6EwdDiopQ
  3. This is true. I knew this guy whose family hosted a German foreign exchange student in high school one summer. He said at the end of summer they asked the student if there's anything he wanted to do before he had to go back in a couple of days and he said "See the Grand Canyon." They were sorry to inform him that the Grand Canyon was a few states or about 1,000 miles (approx. 1,600 Kilometers) away. I guess it's easy to underestimate the size of the U.S. when you don't realize that our country is almost as large as the entire continent of Europe. And it's for the most part inhabitable (
  4. Why is my troll detector siren going off?
  5. I'd like to ride Route 66 on my motorcycle. But I really only wanna see the old parts. Where it just becomes I-40, I have no interest in. I know some states have really worked at restoring some of the old Mother Road.
  6. If you're talking about the Andrew Lloyd Webber version, then yes, it's considered a musical. I know Webber is wildly successful but I'm not that crazy about his shows. I liked Phantom okay but didn't really care for Cats. His shows just seem like a lot of fluff without much substance. Another one that I forgot to mention that I like is The Secret Garden. The sets on that show were so amazing, I hadn't really ever seen anything like it before or since. And it's a great story too with good music.
  7. I don't like how Lucas went back and added stuff to the original trilogy and re-edited parts of it. And he's made that the official version to where you can't get a decent copy of the original on DVD or Blu-ray. I'd like to have a nice, clean copy of the original series (the way it was released in theaters upon its initial release) on DVD so I can watch it how I remember it being. And I know people say "Well they're his movies so he can do whatever he wants" but to a certain extent when you produce a piece of entertainment or art or whatever and put it out there for public consumption and

    Silly girl...tricks are for kids.
  9. He was an archangel of God but sought to exalt himself above God and thus was cast out of Heaven. Like sirbendictvs says, he also goes by the name lucifer which means bearer of light. He most likely does not look like the satan you see in portrayed in movies et. al. with hooves, a tail etc. He is the prince of lies so anything he says can't be trusted but he will never tell you a lie that sounds like a lie. He will tell you what you want to hear. He is the ruler of this world since he caused sin to enter the world and that is why our world is an imperfect one (although it was not creat

    Cars

^^Beautiful car. I don't know if I could narrow my dream car down to one car. I also love the Camero SS that Demian posted above. Just too many cars. I love classic muscle cars (although muscle car purists don't consider Mustangs true muscle cars).
  11. Well being a Christian, I do believe in Satan and evil and demons. But I'm not scared of any of it in the least. Being a Christian, I have no reason to be scared of it. Even if you're not a Christian, I think you have to believe that evil exist. I mean, just look at the world we live in. Throughout history there have been evil people, evil leaders and dictators, people who have committed unthinkable crimes upon other humans and defenseless children.

YESSSSS! How sweet is that car? Would love to have that SS. That thing is bad.
  13. That's not entirely true. Studios are making money, just not all studios. Look at Warner Bros. over the last few years. They've made a killing off of The Dark Knight, Inception and Harry Potter. 20th Century Fox had Avatar which is the highest grossing movie in history. Disney has had Toy Story 3, Tangled and Pirates. Not to mention these studios are diversified in other media. MGM is now out of bankruptcy but got there from ignoring the world of today and letting it pass them by and other forms of mismanagement. Sure, less people are going to the movies and are waiting on DVDs (whic
  14. People keep telling me I need to watch this but none of them have the DVDs to loan me. I love Kristi Chenoweth. She's so cute.
  15. The problem is, is that no one does anything original anymore. It's like they're not even trying. Movies these days are either remakes, sequels, superhero movies (although I enjoy the Chris Nolan Batman series and Superman I & II) or movies adapted from novels.
  16. Even when I disagree with Ebert's reviews I can still understand his point and where he's coming from. He's pretty good. I am kinda surprised that Gary Oldman is in this. Maybe he needed the money.
  17. This movie is to Twilight what The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is to Forrest Gump.
  18. If you meet a person like this though, chances are they are a functioning alcoholic. I have a couple of friends like this.

What's the deal with brightly colored calipers? I've seen this on some sports cars and performance cars lately. Is that the new cool thing?
  20. I know you didn't mean it this way but that really comes across as a come on with your Quagmire avatar going giggity giggity.
  21. It is the same movie. Twilight - chick is attracted to a handsome, "dangerous" guy who is a mythical creature. Riding Hood - chick is attracted to a handsome, "dangerous" guy who is a mythical creature. It's a formula.

    Cars

I think we sometimes get too carried away with this though. Not a whole lot vehicles of the model have to be produced to be called a production car. The Veyron SS is only a production run of 30 vehicles. Only 5 of which will reach the actual top speed. With only 30 in existence, that's really a collectors car. As opposed to a Ford Mustang which you can go to any Ford dealer and buy one and which has been in production for almost 50 years and is priced to where an average person can buy one.
