  1. It will almost certainly be in July but we haven't got an exact date yet, we should know a few months before the date.
  2. He's 35, I still think he can do a good job, there are plenty of players older than him still playing at the top level. I don't think he's the answer for England anymore, but if the current England players showed even half the determination and work rate as Beckham does, then we would have done much better at the world cup, he'd be a good player to have around the squad.
  3. I remember this from last year, you can track Santa's progress around the world here... http://www.noradsanta.org/en/index.html He's already done quite a bit of coverage, this guy deserves a break.
  4. David Beckham wants to move on loan to Europe again so he is playing regularly, and can force his way back into the England squad. He wont be going to AC Milan again while the only Premier League team he will consider is Man Utd, and they have ruled it out. There have been suggestions that he may consider Preston, a Championship team he had a spell on loan with as a youngster. I think there will be lots of European clubs interested in him though.
  5. Congrats, a nice little Christmas present to yourself there.

    Null Xmas

I'm not really that bothered with birthdays anymore but I still like Christmas, it is the only time of the year when the whole family really gets together.
  7. I am definitely looking forward to that tonight, QI is always a great watch.
  8. According to tomorrows papers Liverpool are hoping to 'test the water' with an offer of £5m for Robert Huth... That's not a test, it's an insult! We paid £6m for him ourselves and he's been immense for us this season. He's going nowhere, neither is Shawcross. Together they are one of the best centre back pairings outside the top 6 and one of the main reasons behind our success.
  9. A wasp, I really can't be doing with them at all. It will probably be a swarm of them.

    Snow

I've just ventured out for the first time since my op to take a few pictures of the snow, just in and around my garden....

    Snow

I woke up to a fresh accumulation this morning, only a couple of centimeters but none of the last lot has gone yet so it's quite deep at the moment. Some areas have been hit hard again with more on the way.
  12. Socks, Dumbledore was right when he said one can never have enough socks, especially in these sub zero temperatures! I'd like to say I would see Stoke City lifting the Premier League trophy. Seriously though I am not really sure, so I would have to say my family, my parents with my brother and sister.
  13. Stoke are trying to make Jermaine Pennant's loan move from Real Zaragoza permanent. I really hope this can happen as he has been fantastic for us this season. We have also been linked with Swedish International Sebastian Larsson from Birmingham. It was in the news today that Freddie Ljungberg is talking to two Premier League clubs, which I am surprised about. In his prime he was brilliant for Arsenal, but he had a lot of bad injuries and really struggled for West Ham two seasons ago. He's been playing for Chicago Fire ever since.
  14. I've played in snow myself plenty of times, and rain, I love it.. now hail, that's a different story! 10 or maybe even 5 years ago that game would have been played, I remember once when we played Norwich away, it snowed really bad but the game was on, we won and coming out of the stadium at the end the Stoke & Norwich fans were throwing snowballs at each other, all light hearted fun. The problem these days is health and safety, football clubs and councils are too worried about being sued if somebody slips over outside.
  15. I would love to play a character who plays Quidditch, although I guess the character I am most suited to would be Hagrid, mainly because of size, I think I would look stupid playing anyone else.
  16. I think most referees would have waited but according to the laws of the game as long as players are in their own half, the game can kick off. It's a strange situation, most goalkeepers don't take penalties.. Speaking of goalkeepers, most of them don't do this either...
  17. The next lot are from Valencia again, the majority of them are from the City of Arts and Science which is stunning modern architecture.
  18. I think the goal stood... http://www.soccerbase.com/results3.sd?gameid=419198 You see Butt scored on 76 with Hanke scoring from kick off on 77. They still lost the match so it didn't really affect the final result, good on the Leverkusen players for having a sense of humour and laughing about it though if they had been losing it may have been a different matter.
  19. ^^ That's brilliant, I like classical music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKrx-4Awe70 and a classic....
  20. I remember watching the game, i'm pretty certain he sent the Turkish player Hakan Unsal off for a second yellow card. To be fair he did kick the ball at him in an unsporting way but still cheating of the highest order from Rivaldo. I've just remembered this from a few years ago... to make this mistake is bad enough but when it's against your biggest rivals..... Another from the Bundesliga... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjQThn0Z2wY
  21. I think so, I have seen a few reports like this one in the Daily Mail which says they are making a wig for her.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1336829/Emma-Watson-Daniel-Radcliffe-shoot-Harry-Potter-Deathly-Hallows-final-scenes.html The reshoots they are doing is the final scene 19 years into the future, so it doesn't need to be an exact match.
  22. Although I was and still am against the wars in Iraq and Afgahnistan, I think that it would be wrong to rush pulling the troops out. It needs to be done right and we need to be sure that they are both capable of running as independent countries. If after pulling out the governments fall back under the influence of the Taliban and Al Qaeda, all those losses will have been for nothing, whether it takes five years or even ten years, it needs to be done right. I agree, I don't see how anyone can question it, there is just too much evidence. When I visited the Imperial War Museum in London they
  23. Welcome back to the forums!
  24. Looks like Emma isn't snowed in anyway, although she's had 6 inches of snow. They are back at Leavesden today filming the reshoots. She's just posted on Facebook...
  25. Thankfully things look like changing now with Joe Hart, he has shown great form so far. How about bad/funny examples of play acting or diving? Rivaldo from 2002..
