BlackTiger
There's a short animated movie (15 min) made by Blender Foundation: Sintel. It's completely free to watch or download. I found it quite captivating. You can watch it on YouTube: .And download links on the official site: http://www.sintel.org/wp-content/content/download.html.As for the movies that you mentioned, I know only Shrek and The Swan Princess Edited December 11, 2010 by BlackTiger

ckravitz
Anything that is Pixar (i.e. Despicable Me, Up, Toy Story)
The Dude
Anything that is Pixar (i.e. Despicable Me, Up, Toy Story)I'm pretty sure Despicable Me is not Pixar. But I'm with ya. Anything Pixar is top notch (but I didn't enjoy Nemo). Disney hit it's peak of it's second golden age with Beauty and the Beast and went downhill from there. If Disney hadn't gotten a cut of the Pixar money with their distribution deal then Disney animation would be non existent right now. Pixar saved Disney's butt. And to think, Pixar started as a little side project of Lucasfilm and then was owned at one time by Steve Jobs before climbing atop the animated movie mountain.

Yeah, it really is amazing how a small company can grow into something so prominent. I also agree, Pixar saved Disney's animation studio. -----EDIT-----Steve Jobs is currently on Pixar's board of directors. You're right, it isn't Pixar. It's Universal Animation Studios, Illumination Entertainment, Universal Pictures, and Mac Guff Edited December 31, 2010 by ckravitz

ckravitz
And you guys, how about The Tale of Despereaux? ^.^ I forgot about that movie. It was good, but I wouldn't put it up near the top of the list. I didn't even realize Emma did a voice in it until a few months ago
emwatsonsuperfan
Ha, yeah I know, I never would have considered it if Emma weren't in it. But I did think it was adorable.

It's Universal Animation Studios, Illumination Entertainment, Universal Pictures, and Mac GuffWatched The Pixar Story on CNBC last night. I knew the basics of the history of the company but this was really interesting. It told about John Lassiter and how he got into animation and how ended up at Pixar etc. It's interesting that at the time when Lassiter was fired from Disney it seemed like a shattered dream. But if it had never been for that then we might not have Toy Story et. al. Very good program. Edited January 5, 2011 by The Dude
